Highland Bear Lodge & Luxury Bear Huts

Lovely wee place. Beautiful bed, bedding and pillows. Lovely shower and basic food preparation utensils. We had beautiful weather so ate the food we brought with us outside. Maybe not so easy in bad weather. We enjoyed it so much. Would come back!!

We stayed in one of the ‘Bear Huts’ which was truly awful. The hut was little more than a shed with a bed. You couldn’t swing a cat in it. The Huts are in a woodland which means it was hiving with midges. So you couldn’t sit outside. The lodge is about 6 miles from Drumnadrochit. So it’s in the middle of nowhere. You’re not even allowed into the lodge. We were told not to open the shed windows due to midges. This meant it was roasting during the day but freezing at night. The entrance to the lodge is very steep and covered in very deep pot holes. This shed accommodation was so bad that we considered booking into a local B&B. And we would have if we could have found availability. We’ll never return and wouldn’t advise anyone staying here. Sent via BT Email App

In our Lochness visit we wanted to have something in the nature. The Lodge is a very noce mansion close to the Lake…few rooms in a cosy atmosphere. Rooms are very spacious…confortable, big bathroom. The owenr is a very charming person. Breakfast is delovwred in the room - so no pressure with time.

Just had a wee weekend away at Highland Bear Lodge. Such a magical setting in beautiful Glen Urquhart with beautiful views...our room was the newly refurbished Bonnie Prince Charlie Suite with a four poster bed. Self check in very easy and we loved the plentiful in room breakfast. Perfect location to explore Loch Ness and also Glen Affric. We will be back.....beautiful place

What a beautiful place. Room was very cozy and clean. Decorated in keeping with the rest of the property. Lounge was available for guests as well. All that you might need was provided or you could contact the owners and get it arranged. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for my 10 year wedding anniversary, the stay from beginning to end was fab. The lodge is very atmospheric with a library and a log fire place. I wish I had time to sit and curl up with a good book but we only had two days and a lot to fit it in. We stayed in the Mary queen of scots room which was a good size the bed was really soft and the in room facilities were top notch. We booked the moonlight tour with Mark and he took us round the local are and we visited lots of hidden gems. His local knowledge was fantastic and it's easy to see how much he loves the area. Me and my husband had a wonderful time. Thank you highland bear lodge. We hope to come back soon
