Sea Rock Villa

This is the most amazing place to stay. The staff are attentive & so friendly & pleasant. Only spent two night here, wished we’d booked longer & would definitely return. We had the most amazing view overlooking the pool & sea. The room was stunning. Huge comfortable bed with extra pillows & lots of plugs around. Tea & coffee making facilities. Comfortable chairs in the room & on the balcony. Shower area lovely with lots of extras. Air con & fan great. The food was absolutely delicious. All meals were lovely. We had English breakfast but you could order a Sri Lankan breakfast the night before. Lunch a la carte. As we were half board, we had to order our evening meal at lunchtime. You got soup then a choice of two main courses & two deserts. All the food was great. Beach beds comfy & the pool man was very attentive & helped you. Beach fabulous & pool refreshing. Highly recommend for a relaxing beach stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Sea Rock Villa near Bentota. The hotel was the cleanest among all our accommodations. Its location is excellent, with direct access to the beach. The on-site restaurant serves fresh and delicious food, and the waiters are professional and well-trained. However, they made it quite obvious that they expected a tip before we left. While the hotel premises are enjoyable, safe, and relaxing, venturing out to Aluthgama, where the shops are located, was less pleasant. We were constantly followed by people trying to earn a commission on our purchases, which made the experience uncomfortable.

Upstairs room with a view of the pool and sea etc. Good size, clean and tidy. All the staff have been wonderful and couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Jaika was especially helpful in sorting out our stay when we had to reduce out stay by a night due to flight cancelation. Breakfasts were great and no rush, the food was delivered quickly with smiles. We had most dinners here, to range and quality was good. They even made a special fuss (all the staff) when they found out that it was our 37th wedding anniversary. It's the little things that count like the pool man setting up the lounger just for us, and sweeping the sand off it when it accumulated. We'd come back in a flash if over this way again, it's what beach down time is about.

This place is truly fantastic! Clean rooms, the garden is beautifully landscaped, a neatly maintained pool and the sea at your feet. Enjoy the sunbeds that the gardener puts in front of you wherever you want. The Palm restaurant right next to the garden is a very nice addition, you don't have to go anywhere everything is already there. We also booked a river tour with Jaba Tours via Sea Rock Villa. That was very worthwhile. Jaba did his best to give us the most enjoyable experience. We sailed through mangrove forests, were able to hold small crocodiles and feed monkeys. Jaba is really incredibly nice! Actually, all the staff at Sea Rock Villa are great! The ladies at the front desk, the people in the restaurant, the gardener. You immediately feel welcome! And yet there is 1 criticism. And that is the owner. A very elderly man who lives in Sea Rock Villa for 6 months a year and behaves entirely accordingly. On the first day of our arrival, I had sat down on a beach bed behind a plastic fence because it was raining and there was no one in the garden. The old man came up to me and, without introducing himself, he started shouting that I was not allowed to sit there, that he had paid a huge amount of money for this place, and that it was therefore his place, and if I wanted to leave. I did not understand, partly because there was no sign saying that this spot was specially reserved. I just got up and left the place, confused. Later, when I inquired with the staff what was with that particular spot, I understood that it was the owner who addressed me like this. He expects special treatment in his own Villa so we could see, and that's his right if he is the owner, but barking at your own guests like that is really something you can't do. Asking nicely and giving an explanation would have been a better idea. Too bad for this location as the staff are great. I think the other 6 months of the year are a lot more pleasant for them.

Beautiful location on the beach, only 8 rooms so didn’t feel busy or crowded, all areas kept so clean. Restaurant has a large variety for lunch and dinner including local cuisine as well as international options. All staff so friendly and helpful. We would recommend and will be returning in the near future!
