Candlewood Suites Cleveland South - Independence

The room was clean. There was a refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher and dishes in the room. The bathroom was super clean and I loved the shower. The hotel is connected to a Holiday Inn so there was access to a bar and restaurant without having to go outside. I would definitely recommend!

Unacceptably inferior housekeeping. When I entered the room for the first time, I noticed that the entryway by the door and bathroom had not been swept. There was dirt and paper buts on the floor. There were red stains on the shower floor, looked like make up. Hairs stuck on the bathroom wall. The air conditioning vent by the window was very dusty. I didn't complain about any of that until I left. Why! It was Labor Day weekend, I was exhausted, and just wanted a quiet room to sleep in. The Candlewood Suites looked beautiful from the outside and on the website. Appearances can be deceiving! Some people seem to be living there. "Extended stay" no longer means "business travel," I guess. It means apartment-alternative. Dogs barking. Guests coming and going all my. Even at 1am. The room doors are not well designed. They slam when you close them. They also let in light from the hallway. And the hallways are bright! The laundry area was dirty. I told the front desk, but no one cleaned it. The elevator floors were dirty, too. Parking is indeed awkward. But the worst thing about the parking lot is that people smoke pot out there. Employees? Guests? Who knows. The Candlewood is strange. And dumpy. Don't fall for the glossy website photos. The Grand Finale- I spotted roaches on the kitchenette countertop and above the bathroom door. Did the front desk offer another room? No. Not even an apology. I wanted to speak with the manager, but he or she was allegedly not on the property. Fail!
