Grand Yazıcı Club Marmaris Palace

We travelled as a group of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids aged 5–13) and overall had a really lovely stay at the Grand Yazici Club Marmaris Palace. Travel & airport: Transfer from Dalaman took about 2 hours, which was just about bearable. Dalaman Airport itself is fine but very expensive, and frustratingly we couldn’t charge our phones while waiting to head home. Our bags were checked three times which felt a bit excessive. Hotel & facilities: The hotel is well-presented and spread over multiple floors/areas. Air con was just about ok, though we did hit 40°C while there which made it harder. The beach area isn’t really a “beach” but it did the job for us. Food & drink: The main restaurant food was very good, although I have to say the staff there weren’t great – quite disinterested at times. By contrast, the bar staff were excellent everywhere – always friendly and couldn’t do enough for us (a 200TL note helped too). We loved the snack bar and main pool bar, and in the evenings the food was consistently good. Our kids (5 & 7) even felt confident going up to the bar and snack areas on their own, which says a lot about how welcoming the staff were in general. Out & about: The water taxi to Icmeler was brilliant – we ate out three times at Coco Beach Bar, Waterfall and Love Boat – all excellent. Taxi back was about 400TL and drivers don’t hang about! We also booked a boat trip through our Jet2 rep – it was a fantastic day out from 9am until about 4:30pm, costing £320 plus drinks. Worth every penny, but if you want to save a bit, speak to Albert (the beauty salon rep) as he offered something very similar including drinks. Highly recommended either way. Negatives: • Sun loungers – if you don’t get up early you’ll struggle to find good spots. It’s a big, busy hotel and while that makes for a great atmosphere, it does mean choice is limited if you’re more relaxed with timings. • Our room (141 near reception) really needs updating. The air con struggled badly in a bigger room, and the mattress was rock hard – and I normally like a firm one. Overall: Despite a few negatives, we had a lovely holiday. The atmosphere, food, and especially the bar staff really made the trip for us. With a few updates to the rooms and better service in the main dining area, this would be an outstanding place to stay.

The best hotel by far!!! Staff are amazing and so friendly and accommodating, they will always try their best and go above and beyond. —-Especially Jengo and Adem the bar staff, they make the best drinks, are always ensuring your drinks are filled and your happy! huge shoutout to them—— Hotel is clean, food and drinks are good, there is food 24 hours a day! The hotel is very engaging with customers, always different activities on during the day and night time. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Amazing hotel with amazing staff that went above and beyond for there guests, there is nothing too much trouble for the whole team at the palace. There was an unfortunate fire during the time we were there and during the time the staff from both the palace and the turban made us feel at ease and safe. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this holiday. From the moment we arrived we were looked after and cases taken off us and taken to our rooms. The receptionist took time to explain where everything was and timings of meal etc. We got to sleep and woke up to a beautiful setting. We wandered down to the hotels beach where there was loads of sunbeds and waiters with drinks wandering around. The beach isn’t a beach but access to the glorious waters which are calm but deep so take swimming aids if you aren’t a strong swimmer. The sunbed issue always appears but the hotel stop people putting towels down before 8am in the main pool and there was always bed available even come 9am at the other pool and the beach had plentiful beds anytime of day. The hotel food is brilliant, lots of choice and the snack bar ( my favourite ) changes each day. The bar staff are always welcoming and friendly and the choice of drink is superb. The food is Turkish but what do you expect when you are in Turkey. Marmaris is a lot more lively and Icmeler a bit calmer but something for everyone at both. All in all it’s a hotel that has everything and if you wanted to spend your whole holiday at the hotel you could. We didn’t use the kids activities but they looked good. It has everything and I don’t think anyone can be dissapointed after a stay at this hotel.

We had a really lovely stay at Marmaris Palace. The hotel is a little dated, but honestly, that adds to its charm—it has a warm, authentic feel. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the seaside area is absolutely wonderful. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, which we enjoyed every day. The food was okay—plenty to choose from, though we’ve had a wider selection at other Turkish hotels. That said, the kids especially loved the pizza and the kebab by the beach, open until 4pm. The staffs are really friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel is also not far from Marmaris for a shopping trip. 10mins in a taxi or bus available right outside the hotel. Also quite nice for an evening walk to the town. The downsides: the room wasn’t cleaned every day, and with kids coming back sandy and salty from the sea, it would have been nice to have more frequent cleaning. The evening entertainment also goes on quite late, which makes it hard for little ones to get to sleep after a long day. And, as with most resorts, you need to get up early to grab a spot by the pool (before 8) or by the sea (before 9:30). Overall, it’s a charming hotel in a gorgeous location, and we had a nice holiday despite those small inconveniences.

We as a family of 4 have just returned. What a wonderful place, the hotel is lovely, so clean (the cleaners work so hard all day and night in the heat to make it spotless!), a great hotel for children, 4 pools (2 shallow pools and 2 deep pools), the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Couple of be aware tips. The rooms are dated, however the are absolutely fine. On arrival you have a stocked mini fridge and then everyday it's topped up with water. We had a sea view room and it was beautiful. The evening entertainment does go on really late and is very loud but didn't affect us my children were that exhausted from the day they slept through it. If you want a bed on the main pool, you have to be there at 7.30am to queue for a bed, it's wild and free for all when security let you in, the relaxed pool, lazy river and kids pool you can lay your towel at any time there's no security! There is one really grumpy lifeguard who blows his whistle every time a child jumps in the pool but there 2 other lifeguards who are amazing with the children, teaching them how to dive and swim and having fun. The main restaurant queues are long about 7pm - 8pm but food is good. The snack restaurant by the beach is great has the best kebab's and pizza at lunchtime. The on site Italian and Turkish restaurant are a must visit so make sure you book. The ice cream, the patisserie counter, coffee corner and bubble tea van are amazing. I would also recommend using Hoppa as a private transfer it takes 1 hour 30 mins. Overall this is one of the best hotels we've visited for the whole family. I would 1000% return! My children had the best time and met some wonderful friends.
