Hôtel Daria-I Nor by les Etincelles

Stayed here week commencing 4th Jan our 3rd stay ,so that tells you a lot .Our room looked out directly on the Alpine Express Lift and the mountains behind which we requested as you get the max sun every day on the balcony. Ref last review by Michael H ,i tried my hardest to hear the ski lift and unless i opened the door i could not hear the lift .The staff from reception to manager were extremely friendly and helpful .Ski shop was great opened in plenty of time for my grand children to get kitted up and over to Bergers for ski school in time .Overall we had a great time again and have already booked again for Jan 2026.Many thanks to all the staff Mike & Kim

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The quality of the room was great, plenty of storage and nice amenities. The spa is very nice and as it’s open most of the day it was easy to find quiet times to visit. Breakfast was very good. We ate in the bar once and that was nice, but a little expensive for what we had. We also ate in the restaurant one evening as the weather was bad and we didn’t want to go out, and the food was a bit underwhelming so glad we weren’t on half board. It wasn’t bad, just not great for the price compared to restaurants in the resort. The ski shop is really good, not expensive compared to other shops of comparable quality in the area and really convenient. The gondola access is amazing. I hate carrying my skis for more than about 30 seconds so the access straight onto the gondola towards Bergers was perfect. We also used it in the other direction to generally get around the town. It’s free to use without a ski pass. My two recommendations to make things perfect would be: Start turndown service a little earlier in the evening. Maybe it was because of where our room was but we would only get turndown after 9pm, sometimes as late as 9.45pm. We missed it 4 out of 7 nights because we’d already settled in for the evening and didn’t want to be disturbed. Maybe it’s just that we’re lame and don’t tend to stay out late but having it 7-8pm would be better. When we did have it, it was really good though, as was the general cleaning each day. The ski shop kindly took our boots on the last day to clean them and said they’d be in reception and then delivered to us. This was a nice idea but in reality we asked reception several times for our boots and initially nobody knew they were there, then we were given the wrong ones. Finally my husband just got them from reception himself. We were staying really close to the ski shop, it honestly would’ve been easier for them to stay there! Great idea but needs some better comms and system to get it right. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel staff was very friendly, great location just meters from the Gondola lift, and tasty and varied dining experiences.

We spent a wonderful week in Alpe D'Huez and the Hotel Daria-I Nor. The hotel is perfectly placed for the slopes with the Alpe Express on the doorstep. The ski shop in the hotel is excellent - we hired boots, skis and helmets and they were waiting for us on arrival and then collected at the end of each day ready for the following day. We were half board - the breakfast is all you could want to start your day and the evening meal was a proper feast with great variety each evening and the hotel was happy to vary the options if something from the set menu didn't take out fancy. The Christmas Eve Menu was very special and there was always a lovely atmosphere in the dining room - a nice balance of relaxed informality and excellent service. We had the connected family rooms - a twin and a double - and it's probably the best set up we've ever had - plenty of space and storage, well appointed, warm and perfect for a family of four (two older children). The spa and pool are excellent - hot tub was a great place to unwind after a day on the slopes and the sauna, steam room and salt room meant that on our one day of white-out there was plenty to do. Alpe D'Huez is a great resort with lots of variety on the pistes, minimal queues and a lovely town centre for shopping, eating and wandering. Staying at the Hotel Daria-I Nor was the perfect place to explore everything. However, the main thing that sets the Daria- I Nor apart from other places we've stayed was the staff. They were exceptional - from reception to the ski shop and housekeeping and, best of all, all the staff who worked in the restaurant who had a smile on their face every day and really made it feel like nothing was any bother for them - a real credit to the hotel. We will hopefully be back again soon.

We just returned from an incredible week at Hotel Daria - I Nor, and it’s safe to say this was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was perfect, and we can’t recommend it enough. First, our room was stunning – spacious, cosy, and beautifully designed. The atmosphere made us feel right at home while still offering the luxury you’d expect from a five-star resort. Plus, the cleaning staff goes above and beyond with twice-a-day cleaning to keep everything spotless. And the cherry on top? The adorable little chests with treats left in the evenings – such a sweet touch! The SPA facilities are amazing. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing massage, a soak in the jacuzzi, or a variety of treatments to rejuvenate after a day on the slopes, they’ve got you covered. It’s the perfect way to unwind after skiing or snowboarding. The food deserves its own round of applause. We opted for half-board, and we’re so glad we did. Breakfasts were a dream, with an enormous selection – cold cuts, fish, eggs, desserts, pastries, and more, all delicious and beautifully presented. And the dinners? Wow! Portions were generous, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and everything was unbelievably tasty. You’ll never leave the table hungry, that’s for sure! The hotel’s location is unbeatable. Just 10 steps (yes, we counted!) from the gondola lift, it’s incredibly convenient for hitting the slopes. No hassle, no long walks – just grab your gear and go. Speaking of gear, the ski shop on-site is fantastic. The staff there are so thoughtful and caring, always ready to help and even store your equipment. But what really made our stay special was the staff. From the receptionists to the restaurant team and cleaning crew, everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. Their attention to detail was exquisite, and they truly made us feel like VIPs throughout our stay. Thank you, Hotel Daria - I Nor, for an unforgettable experience. We’re already counting down the days until we can come back!

We’ve just come back from the most amazing week in Alpe D’Huez. We stayed at Daria-I Nor Apartment Hotel which was first class. The self catering apartments based within the 5 star hotel was the perfect set up with kids, giving us the option to have a quick breakfast in the apartment before skiiing and cosying up in our own living room when the kids wanted to chill in the afternoon. The hotel facilities, restaurants, food and service were 5 star throughout. The staff couldn’t have been more hospitable and this is what made this hotel and the holiday so very special. Yanis in the bar/restaurant served amazing food, delicious cocktails and was wonderful with our noisy group of children! Nothing was too much trouble. The Director Mr joubert Ugo made our sons 13th birthday so special by suprising us with a enormous chocolate birthday cake from the hotel pattiserie. Everyone in our party of 9 had the best experience at the homely 5 star hotel. We can’t wait to revisit next year.
