Villa Baan Malinee

It could have been a nice experience if it were not overwhelmed by an excessive cost cutting atmosphere reigning this B&B. It positions itself as a "5 star bed and breakfast", but instead you are left with the feeling that you would do better by not coming at all. When we arrived our shower was not working, so we were allowed to take a shower in the other room, and the plumber supposedly called. No welcome drinks or any other kind of welcome effort whatsoever... When we came back to the room in the evening the shower was still not functioning properly, though the host insisted that it was fixed. The water pressure increased indeed after about 20 minutes experimenting with the boiler, but stayed capricious at best throughout our stay. The breakfast was correct, but I still couldn't get rid of this feeling of economy in everything (3 dime size pieces of salami for 2). When I made a casual remark that the pool needs cleaning (which it clearly did), it was met with a comment that I don't have a pool at home, and I don't know what it takes to take care of it. I must say though that a cleaner came the next day and the quality of water improved a bit, still we didn't venture getting into it. I would have probably not written this review at all, but the last drop was charging 2 x 100baht for 2 tooth brushes when we checked out. I don't care about 100 baht, but for a hotel positioning itself as luxury, doing this WITHOUT EVEN telling us this in advance, was nonsense. To compare, rental of a motorbike for a whole day is only 250 baht. Oh, and God forbid you asking to have your clothes washed. They probably save on the washing powder too. Ours got out smelly as if not washed at all :(

Situated in a quiet area but in easy reach of Hua Hin amenities, a beautiful serene and tranquil villa which feels like home. Marlene welcomes you with kindness and warmth and is an exceptional hostess. Breakfast is perfect - there is no rush, is made fresh to when you would like to eat with smoothies and fresh coffee, fruits and salads, warm breads and croissants and home made jams, ( and cooked breakfasts to your order) - we ate like kings! The villa is superbly decorated and with Marlene's personal touch, everything from the decor to place settings is personally and professionally arranged, yet with a very homely and welcoming feel. Nothing is too much, Marlene has the gift of ensuring you have everything you need for your stay to be comfortable, (she even gave us a mobile phone with a Thai Sim card with contacts for our use during our stay), and yet giving you the privacy to enjoy the wonderful villa, gardens and pool. We only wish you could expand into the UK Marlene and we would visit every weekend! Recommend 100% - we will make this our choice of somewhere to stay whenever we re-visit Thailand!

Great hospitality by pet-friendly Belgium owner and her right hand Khun Tae. Beautiful quiet location with clean rooms and very nice pool. Breakfast quality as variety was top-notch. Beach nearby (6min by car). We couldn't ask for more and will be back soon.

My wife and I have stayed in Villa Baan Malinee 3 times now; first time as a newlywed with our puppy, second time with my pregnant wife and older puppy, and most recent with our 7 month old baby and much older pup. All 3 times have been amazing! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly the whole way through. Our most recent stay was the most memorable as Marlene was available throughout the day to accommodate us with our needs. She was able to provide us with a baby crib, baby highchair and provide baby friendly breakfasts (included). They even cooked vegan and vegetarian food for us as my wife is vegan and our baby and I are vegetarian. Upon our request, Marlene also organised a cute massage for my wife and I in the villa. The rooms we’ve stayed in are spacious with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms are big and one of the rooms we stayed in had a bath and an outside shower. They clean the room upon request or from our experience, every other day. There is plenty of space to hang and keep your clothes. A mini fridge and minibar are available in the rooms we stayed in. The outside space is blooming with nature and looks stunning. There is a big swimming pool and spa, with some pool toys available for use. There is an outside eating area accessible any time. There is a communal kitchen which is open from the morning until the early evenings where there is a microwave, toaster, oven, kettle, and more! There are heaps of information about attractions and places to eat in the lounge room and Marlene is very knowledgeable about things to do in Hua Hin if you need any further information. I cannot recommend this place enough – do yourself a favour and enjoy this home away from home!

This villa truly is a little paradise. Located in a quiet area, but still close to the beach. Beautifully decorated villa with spacious rooms, nice pool and plenty of seating area outside. And to top it all off, wonderful and kind hosts, preparing the best breakfast every morning and always willing to help or answer any question we might have. Thank you, Marleen and Khun Tae for a wonderful stay!

In 1woord prachtig zijn 5dagen daar geweest en was een plezier om hier te vertoeven.Het ontbijt was elke dag een streling voor het oog.Bedankt voor de mooie dagen.Groejes Helena en guido.ps we komen zeker nog eens terug
