Orchid Paradise Homes Villa OPV 20

DO NOT STAY AT NUMBER 417 Orchid Paradise 4 villa number 417. I do NOT recommend either long term or short term renting of this villa. I have just given up after a 6 month rental. The owner is not available but a representative over sees the renting and payment for electricity and water. She is an aggressive and belligerent woman. The charge for water on the complex is 60baht per unit. The locals pay 5 baht per unit so someone is making a killing! There is a gardener who waters the garden twice weekly, even after torrential downpours in the rainy season he waters the garden so you can pay the 60baht per unit. Upon taking this up with the representative she basically told us that if the bill was 1000baht then too bad we would have to pay it! The villa is placed next to the road which has become very busy with large Lorrie’s transporting dirt from the many surrounding building sites that are springing up all around the complex. The garden also butts up to the corrugated shack that the Orchid Paradise workers use to store belongings for working around the complex. The complex manager seems to think that these employees only gather at the ‘shack’ for 10 minutes at the start of the working day. He is much mistaken, they collect here for quite some time of a morning, again at lunchtime and for some considerable time at the end of the working day. Loudly laughing, shouting and playing music. They are able to see into the villa grounds as the ground rises on their side of the wall. Casting shade on their ‘shack’ is an enormous tree. Every time there is any wind or rain the patio and pool fill with leaves. These leaves have a white substance adhering to the back of them. This comes off in the pool and forms a scummy slick across the surface which the nets are unable to remove rendering the pool unusable. The photos provided are not the pool and patio at its worst. We spent many hours of our time sweeping the patio and cleaning the pool. The villa itself is very nicely laid out with a large kitchen/family area, oven, hob etc. 3 good sized bedrooms, one en suite and a family bathroom. The beds are very firm and we found them very uncomfortable. The family bathroom door sticks and if you shut it completely you are unable to exit it without external assistance! Due to the noise from the road and complex employees alongside the leaf filled patio and pool I would NOT recommend a stay here either sort or long term.
