The Ginger Pig

Noisy, tired and expensive! They would only sell the rooms as a two night stay. There are lots and lots of stairs. The room and hotel is tired and needs money spent on it. Even a lick of paint would help. It was expensive for what it was and the neighbourhood was very noisy.

My partner and I booked 2 nights here while he was working in the area and we had a wonderful stay! The staff are the friendliest and most helpful we have come across in a long time. We arrived after the kitchen had just closed and they kept it open for us to have a full meal in their delicious restaurant (and didn't rush us!). The rooms were modern, cosy and super clean. The cocktails were also amazing! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area - we will 100% be visiting again!

Room was totally adequate, very clean. Lots of stairs. Good mini bar but very expensive. Coffee and tea topped up every day. Personally I felt the staff let it down. Just not a friendly welcome or atmosphere. We didn’t eat there for this reason, so can’t comment on the food.

Arrived later than we should due to traffic and miffed as really wanted to take advantage of more time here. The attention to detail was perfect and we ate in the restaurant and breakfast with the same attention to detail there. Loved the ginger aroma in the rooms. My only complaint was the rooms are too hot with heating on. We turned the radiators off in the room but the heat from the corridors rose into the room and so it made it hard to sleep. Otherwise loved it and will return as my son is now living in the area.

What a wonderful stay at the Ginger Pig, we were a group of 13 and booked 1 room & three of the Mews Houses. The staff we're super accommodating, the rooms were gorgeous and in the Mews Houses it felt like a home from home with all of the little amenities in the kitchen and bathroom. The location is perfect, its just a short Uber away from the Lanes in Brighton and few steps from the beach. This will be my go-to hotel now when staying in Brighton!

Lovely boutique hotel close to the seafront in genteel Hove. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff who helped me choose a room over the phone, and chased down green tea bags for me. Rooms are really nicely decorated - fabulous bathrooms - big comfortable beds.

Nice and very clean accomadation. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Food in the restaurant was excellent both for breakfast and lunch. Location perfect and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Perfect for a weekend break or holiday.

Having walked to the hotel from the centre of Brighton to check whether they have a car park (they don't but paid parking close by), we were dismayed by the pretty shabby exterior of the place - in fact if we hadn't already paid for the room, we might have considered looking elsewhere! Which would have been a grave mistake! The room we had booked (room 3) was very large, with a huge bathroom with free-standing bath and immense walk-in shower (lovely Cowshed toiletries, too!). The furnishings and decor were modern, very comfortable and spotless and the fridge with complimentary water and biscuits was well-stocked, as was the coffee machine. The restaurant food at dinner was outstanding, probably the best mackerel we've ever had...and breakfast was equally impressive (though we found it a little strange that there was no veggie 'full English' and no fruit juices on the short menu...although we didn't ask, so may have been available but not advertised). All the staff we met went beyond to please and were really friendly and efficient. Overall a FANTASTIC establishment and definitely our go-to hotel when in the Brighton area. Thanks to

An outstanding experience all around. We stayed in a very affordably priced on the top floor which was ideal. Comfortable, meticulously decorated and spotless, we could not have asked for anything more. We also had breakfast downstairs which was simple and very well done. We’d come back without hesitation next time we’re in the area.
