I enjoyed everything about my visit. The pub itself is beautifully designed and my room was charming with immaculate views. At breakfast I met Natalie who was so friendly and cheerful that I did not worry I was a solo traveller. I met Jesse too who was also welcoming and I felt very relaxed in their company. Breakfast was delicious however I would have liked the option of fresh fruit. There were many personal little touches from housekeeping which complemented the experience. A beautiful stay and I would definitely visit again ❤️

What a fabulous place! The location was stunning overlooking the cove, we were met with a warm & friendly welcome, our room was comfortable with great views. Food was excellent and staff were lovely. We were treated to the most spectacular sunsets on our visit. Would recommend a stay here.

I wanted a few days near the sea and The Hope & Anchor does not disappoint being a few feet from the beach. My room was spacious, yet cosy. I could hear the sea but not other guests or customers in the bar and restaurant. The food was very good in terms of variety, quality and reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Hope & Anchor. It's in a perfect location for coastal walks and the village itself is picturesque with the beach directly opposite. Our sea view room was on the small side but very comfortable with a really nice en suite, a small fridge( stocked with fresh milk & water), coffee machine & comfy bed. The cooked breakfast was very nice with a good choice but maybe more fresh fruit, nicer cereal & yoghurt would have improved it. We had two evening meals on the sunny terrace overlooking the beach and really enjoyed the food but felt the menu choices could have included more fresh fish options or specials. We were really impressed with all the staff members. Without exception they were friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We booked this as a gift for our parents. Mum and dad tried to post this on Facebook but aren’t tech savvy. Thank you so so much for looking after them! Very grateful! “We've just come back from staying at the The Hope and Anchor Inn Hope Cove, Devon, where we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. A present from the family. The staff were warm & beautiful & spoilt us & genuinely excited that we wanted to celebrate our Ruby anniversary with them. Everyone knew about us & chatted with us. Food was gorgeous. The personal touches made it extra special. Will we go back again?? Definitely. Thank you guys. X”

The staff were helpful and friendly and the food excellent. Lovely room too with a great sea view. All in all a lovely relaxing stay.

We stayed in the suite. Very clean and comfy with a huge bed. We took our Goldador dog who was also well loved. Great breakfasts and evening meals with friendly staff and a brilliant location for walks and visits to other locations nearby like Burgh Island

We visited Hope Cove and stayed at the Hope and Anchor for our honeymoon. There was a bit of a hiccup with the booking but Jessie was fabulous and sorted everything out for us. The room was beautiful, quirky and had amazing views. The only thing I would say is that the smoking area beneath the window may be better placed somewhere else, as with the ocean breeze the room quickly smelled of smoke and vapes if we had the windows opened. As vegans it was great to have such tasty food, breakfast was very nice and a good size. Main meals and starters were tasty but small, for example 5 small bits of tofu, and it would have been better (more filling) to have another vegetable or a salad with our vegan ‘sausage’ and butter bean mash (which was delicious). The staff were amazing and so welcoming, Jessie and Ollie (? - apologies if I’ve got the name wrong!) seemed to be always there and were fabulous! Thank you for our great stay!

We went there to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. A birthday treat from our youngest daughter her husband and 2 children. The venue is wonderful, the staff were great and the food was delicious. An added surprise was the card, free bottle of beer and fridge magnet for my husband. Two of us had the mussels, one had fish and chips, one had the vegan "fish" and chips and the children had pizzas. The portions were generous and the food was perfect. The setting is marvellous; right near the beach. Thank you all at The Hope and Anchor for making my husband's day so special.
