Waikiki
Hotel was fine and the location is good. However, I had a few challenges with the trip. Firstly, I changed my room from a single bed to 2 beds as a friend was joining me on the trip. When I called the hotel to change my room, I was told that the change would cost $20. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the change cost was actually $120 + tax. I had not received any communication from the hotel in advance about this much higher cost and was disappointingly forced to pay it. I would not have booked the room had I known the higher cost was $120 + tax and would have instead gone with a different hotel. The ocean view rooms have a very limited ocean view. The hotel does not have some basic conveniences like a luggage scale and other things had issues (e.g. iron wasn't working and dirtied my clothes, although the hotel was able to get me another iron later). I would not recommend this hotel.

Waikiki
The location and staff were very good. There was one downside to staying here, we had a corner unit and by 4am we could hear absolutely everything going on outside, garbage and delivery trucks especially. They really need to upgrade their windows if anything. It felt like we were outdoors and we were on the 6th floor! When we complained which I’m sure everyone who has stayed in that corner unit has, they waived the hotel fee which wasn’t much but at least it was something. I’m sorry but that was a dealbreaker and would never stay there again. If you feel like waking up by 4am because of noise then by all means stay here.

Absolutely gorgeous location & fantastic unit with an great patio to enjoy morning coffee, afternoon lunch and of course a great sunset. With all the positives I would not stay here again for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that it is not convenient to get to the North Shore. In all my research I did not realize the road going North is not open for traffic. It still appears as a road on maps but apparently it has been washed out so many times they decided to to repair the road. So you had to go 30 minutes south then go 30 more minutes to go North. That was an hour of travel time (on a good day & time of day)to get to the North Shore. A second negative was the amount of homeless tent cities. The majority of local beaches in that area were taken over by the homeless, not a place for tourists. I will add that there were no problems on the beach at this hotel. It was a very beautiful beach and quiet beach. The waves were large so great if you want to be daring and body surf or boogie board, not so great for little kids or just floating. If you are looking for quiet and have no plans to travel around the island this could be a good choice.

We stayed in room 911. The place was clean and tidy. Exceptional view of the Ocean and Diamond head. Front desk staff did an outstanding job. Special Kudos to Jonathan. Mark Howard the property manager kept in contact with us throughout the 2 week stay. Great communication and was insuring we were taken care of. No resort fees and parking was only 30 dollars a day. Small garage but worked just fine. Just a block to the beach and perfect location. I would definitely stay here again. No bugs. woohoo.... It is an older property but is in very good condition and well maintained / clean. Get a car and explore the island.
