"Very Disappointing stay, we arrived at 08:30pm and the bar had already stopped serving food. The stair way up to the rooms is almost dangerous, very steep narrow stairway with a 180 turn half way up with restricted head space, this should not be acceptable as you have to carry luggage bags up these stairs (we only had hand luggage bags) The room was very smelly of mould and smoke (fag but still in window jams), very mouldy smell in the room and wall paper is peeling off the wall, the room did not have a desk for an working that may be needed. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable, this is a very basis offering and should not be advertised as a hotel - and should be honest and say its a Hostel Breakfast was served in a shoebox size cardboard box directly to the bed room and left on the floor out side, the contents was of basic quality and not that great. In the morning the bar is all closed off and there is no seating available until 11am You have to be out of the room at 10am so these no where to go in between"

"We stayed here as 3 families with grandchildren and it was perfect. In the middle of no where with peace and tranquility it was lovely. The grounds and lakes to wander the play ground and animals where great. The lodges were equipped to a good standard and the hog roast o the Sunday evening scrumptious. A good time was had by all as beaches and attractions in easy reach . Recommend this park "

"To call this a hotel is a joke! Had we not pre-paid for the room, we would have left immediately! No curtains, minimalistic furnishings, information file that was incorrect and misleading and the wardrobe consisted of six wire coat hangers on hooks on the wall! Hotel room details of menu costs/prices were less than those charged in the bar! This is disingenuous at best if not verging on the fraudulent. Room guide stated:- Breakfast is served in the main bar between xxxx and xxxx. Nothing of the sort!!! We were to find two cardboard boxes outside our room with allegedly what purported to be breakfast!!! We had ONE CHAIR AND NO TABLE ON WHICH TO EAT T HIS SUPPOSED BREAKFAST!!! We would strongly recommend other tourists NOT TO USE this “facility”. In staying in several small hotels during our tour this summer, this was pleasingly the exception."

"Lovely little find close to Bude. Decided on a last minute trip to Bude and fortunately Barton Gate Farm had a room free that evening. Lovely host that was friendly and attentive. Clean room with a small kitchenette that was a huge bonus for us - we brought some pre made pasta and could heat that up in the microwave for tea. Breakfast was just right for us with the free continental option but cooked options were also available for a very reasonable fee. We will certainly look to book here again next time we are visiting the region."

"This little park is wonderful, we really enjoyed the quietness. Loves the chickens and rabbits running around and the lovely fresh eggs every day. Little bar on site but was only open once during our stay but we were lucky enough to be there for the hog roast, it was amazing. We will definitely be back."
