Emhosheni River Lodge

What a unique and special place this is. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by Sarah, the lodge manager, and she and her wonderful staff went out of their way to make our stay extra special. They exceeded every one of our expectations. Emohsheni caters to special dietary needs, and the staff did an amazing job. The dishes would be well received at any 5 star restaurant. The boma dinner was one of the highlights of our trip. This intimate lodge being situated right on the Oliphants river, brings many different types of animals right to your front door! In addition the daily game drives yielded some of the most wonderful wildlife moments. Up close and personal experiences with the Big 5. This may have been our first visit but definitely will not be our last!

Very friendly staff, great views of the Olifants River and the animals, beautiful grounds, and good food. Our guide explained a lot to us, and we were lucky enough to see leopards, a large pride of lions with some cubs, and, of course, many other wonderful animals. It was a lot of fun.

I can't recommend this lodge more. It's a intimate lodge so you get very attentive service from the entire staff. I stayed in one of the luxury tents which honestly was nicer than my on bedroom. Every meal was spectacular to the point to stop myself from overeating. The staff took care of things before you even had a chance to put in a request. Whether it was seeing your personal laundry bag in your room while you're on the morning game drive and taking it to be laundered, or setting up lunch in front of the river so we didn't have to step away from the herd of elephants we were watching across the river enjoy their mud bath. The set up at the lodge is great. Ypu can do game drives in the morning and evenings. Clement and Monet are great guides and drives. Educating you throughout the drive. If you aren't able to do game drives this is also a grwat place for you. It's right on the banks of the Olifants River which means the animals basically come to you. You can sit on the deck or the pool lounges as giraffes, elephants, hippos, gator, and many types of antelopes come walking by in clear view. I stayed at another lodge right after this one and while it was decent in paled in comparison to Emhosheni River Lodge.

The location, next to the river where Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos and many other animals are come to drink is very special. Two guides who took us to safaris were extremely knowledgeable and very kind. On arrival we were welcomed by Sarah the lodge manager who made sure that we are looked after throughout of our stay. Last evening of our stay we were treated to a barbecue and local dance which made our stay even more special. We hope one day to go back again

Everything was wonderful: the stay, the staff, the food, the tours. I felt at home and was sad when I left, haha, as if I were leaving a little piece of myself behind. Of the Big Five, we saw two — the elephant and the leopard (one of the hardest to spot). The river was full, which I believe made it harder for the animals to cross. Emhosheine feels like a big family — thank you so much!!

After 2 days of self-driving through Kruger National Park we enjoyed the private part of Greater Kruger at Emosheni River Lodge. Directly located at Olifanrs river we saw a group of elephants shortly after our arrival at the water pond, directly from the patio of our Rondavel lodge. The team at Emosheni did everything to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The food is delicous, the "braai" barbecue event after the night drive with all guests was fantastic. We had great fun. We were very lucky to see a leopard in the last minute of our last game drive. What an experience!!! Emosheni River Lodge is a perfect place to experience wildlife, delicous food, friendly service staff in a relaxing and modern environment.
