Beautiful designed hotel with excellent service and food

Disappointing Experience at Radisson Hoedspruit — Definitely Not Worth the Brand Name Our recent stay at the Radisson Hotel & Resort, Hoedspruit was unfortunately far from the experience we expected from a reputed international brand like Radisson. Right from the day of check-in, we encountered multiple issues that left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. 1. Check-in Experience: On arrival, we were surprised when the front office staff (Kabelo) denied our payment, even though the booking and payment were made in advance nearly two months prior. After repeated back-and-forth discussions and unnecessary confusion, the hotel finally confirmed late at night that the payment had indeed been received. This was an extremely unpleasant start to our stay. 2. Dining Experience – Day 1: Dinner on the first night was equally frustrating. The restaurant staff appeared untrained and indifferent. Despite clearly mentioning that we do not eat pork, we were still served food containing pork. This was both unacceptable and disappointing. The lack of attention and understanding of guest requests reflects poorly on the management and staff training. 3. Dining Experience – Day 2: The next evening, things got even worse. I ordered Pasta Arrabiata, which was served with a sweet tomato ketchup–like sauce — far from the authentic version. Even after returning it twice and explaining the issue to the chef, the dish remained the same. After nearly three hours of waiting and repeated follow-ups, we eventually gave up and ordered Aglio Olio just to eat something. The entire experience was exhausting. 4. Lack of Basic Amenities: Another surprising issue was the lack of basic guest amenities like bottled water. We had booked two rooms for three guests, but only one bottle of water was provided — and that too after multiple requests. This is completely unacceptable for a resort of this category. Front office Manager Ms. Barbara is the show runner who does not keep the guest first and just for a water bottle the staff has to take permission from her. Overall, our experience was disappointing — poor service, untrained staff, lack of attention to guest comfort, and unacceptable delays at every step. The property itself has potential, but it is being seriously let down by poor management and lack of hospitality standards expected from a Radisson-branded resort. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves training, communication, and service standards.

What an amazing experience I had at the hotel. From check in, Angie and Wisani welcomed me with great warmth and friendliness. Angie offered me some refreshment to drink.The staff at the restaurant is very friendly and free spirited.God bless Long the bar man, he's one of a kind. Tebogo is very accommodative,patient and attentive. I ate the best prawns ever and the cocktails from the mirage bar were exceptional. A 10/10. I enjoyed my safari, my highlight was seeing a lion after such a long time. It was indeed an experience to remember. I was so fulfilled. Thank you Radisson Safari Hotel.

Excellent stay, would definitely recommend. Spotless hotel with friendly staff and lovely vibe overall. Rooms are excellent and everything is of a very high standard. Great breakfast offering - lots of choice and food is topped up right up until breakfast closes. Staff great too. Would definitely recommend.

The check-in process was quick and easy. The escort to the rooms as well was done efficiently and i felt that was superior because we arrived late, so we had less stress on the bags and finding rooms. I added on our trip the Spa Treatment and the email returned said Guest did not confirm but at check-in i requested the follow-up, and also the response did not come until after check-in that the spot was not available. The dinner service was slow and the food was cold. You can't even give the waitresses grief because they are nice and courteous, but they need training on food and drinks service. The restaurant manager Sibusiso i think also needs training on handling guest queries because his approach which is defensive mode can escalate a small issue into something explosive. The room features are the best. The touch of motion detector lights at night. The sleep was sound and the upholstery blocked light into the room, so you can sleep sound in the morning. The hotel is clean. Please keep the swimming area clear of towels and used crokery and glasses. The boxed cocktails at that price is not ayoba as they are just syrup and they don't taste nice for the amount charged. Loved the touch of the cake in the room as requested, as we had a birthday and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Thank you for that special touch.
