Becks Safari Lodge is amazing. Johan and his wife, Adelina, are such gracious hosts. They have created the ideal resort to enjoy seeing the Big Five in the ultimate comfort. The rooms and their views are spectacular. The food and spa are both five stars. All of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Our game drive guide, Matthew, and our tracker, Forget, were truly special. Not only for their incredible abilities, but also for their kindness. We have been to many places all over the world and Becks is one of a very few that we really can’t wait to visit again. When you get misty eyed when saying goodbye you know it’s a very special place.

Myself and my family recently stayed at Becks safari lodge for 1 night. From the moment we arrived at the lodge we were greated by the friendly staff, who kindly took our bags to our rooms (as a family of 4 we had 2 rooms). The lodge itself was absolutely stunning and had a great atmosphere, but the rooms were something else. The rooms over looked a river and were very well furnished. Johan and his wife ran the lodge amazingly well. All the staff were friendly and the food was tasty and excellently presented. The staff and all the people in the lodge made us feel like VIP's and could not have done more for us. On our 2 game drives, with Matthews and Forget, we saw 3 of the big 5, but by far the best sightings were the cheetah and leopard. I'm sure if we stayed longer we would have seen more. We would love to stay there again, I highly recommend it.

Our experience at Becks Safari Lodge was absolutely outstanding from the moment we arrived to our departure! The meals and bar service were excellent and the staff were so friendly and attentive, and our room was amazing - 5 star all around! Our safari experiences far exceeded our expectations! Large beds, large rooms, lovely deep bath, clean and tidy. AC in the rooms for heat or cooling. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee in the room with a coffee machine . Water bottles in the fridge. Large veranda with wildlife to observe on the riverside. Very friendly and helpful staff. They really do care that you are having a wonderful experience and stay. Fabulous food with a vegetarian option for every meal. Safari early morning and late afternoon. Good game to view, experienced tracker and ranger.

We'd spent three days at Abelana -- itself an unforgettable place -- before moving to Beck's for a further three days of bush experience. Johan and Adelina were welcoming and easy hosts, who were always willing to check in on how we were doing, what we'd seen and to share their extensive knowledge of the bush. Our guide was Sandy and Oriel our tracker -- they could not have done more to provide the most memorable three dawns and sunsets -- especially on our last morning drive, where they left no stone unturned to get us close to a very elusive leopard, but no cigar, unfortunately. We did see the big five. really up close, (although the first and only leopard sighting was distant in low light. Lion, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, nyala, kudu, bushbuck, squirrels -- you name it. One of the highlights was probably the up-close-and-almost-very-personal contact with the main elephant bull, who made it clear we should move out of his way. The other had to be the bush walk with Bethwell and Oriel, where we learned an enormous amount about bushes, plants and their uses as well as tracking and animal behaviour. The accommodation is world-class; the staff are cheerful, warm and efficient and the food is excellently prepared and presented. -- And very generous! We'd have liked just one light option on the menu, especially at lunchtime. If anyone were to ask my opinion on how to spend a week in the Phalaborwa area, I'd recommend exactly what we did, without hesitation. Can't wait to get back!

What a fantastic short stay we had at Becks and were treated like royalty the from the minute we arrived. I can not recommend the lodge more and what great value for money it was for us. Well done...

An excellent overall experience with very friendly staff and good game viewing. Started with a good transfer from HDS on a tarred road to the entrance of Karongwe, a good friendly welcome & briefing by the Managers Johan and Adelina. Very comfortable, large room with all amenities, followed by a great game drive and a fine dinner.
