Bluewater by Spinnaker Resorts

Terrible customer serivice, charged fees for activitiy I never sign up, and when requesting request, the customer service is very rude and transfering me to multiple department and put me on hold for 4 hours, they put the phone on then hung up, I will never stay in this place again. Also overcharged the resort fee and do not issue a refund.

Just a beautiful resort! Has everything you need to have a wonderful vacation. Three restaurants within walking distance are the best on the island. Just a wonderful place. My favorite tomeshare out of 4 that I own. Always enjoy visiting and look forward to going again soon.

The resort needs to be refurbished. It is worn and needs new carpet. Kitchen faucet is a disaster. Limited staff this season so difficult to get response. Pool has many wasp nest under tables. Tile in bathrooms missing and signs of water damage in ceilings.

We were given the worst possible room, first floor with our entrance right by the smelly trash cans. They refused to move us. The toilet paper holder was broken, and a maintenance person came without even a screw driver to fix it. When I asked for extra supplies, Kerry gave me an attitude like they were going to take it out of his check. They charged me a $20 per day resort fee, but were stingy with extra toilet paper and paper towels. I cannot recommend this timeshare. There are at least 8 well managed other vacation clubs on HH, pick one of those.

We stayed at Bluewater Resort and Marina over Thanksgiving week. We traded into Bluewater via an exchange. We arrived and checked in with the front desk and was then moved over to the “concierge” who told us about all the great amenities and discounts. Before going to Bluewater we researched the location and the Spinnaker website and saw that golf was included at two local clubs. Other amenities are pool, basketball, mini golf, etc. So during our meeting with the “concierge” we were told that in order to get the golf amenity we must sit through a timeshare presentation. There was never any documentation or information in the website that stated golf was not included if you’re not a spinnaker owner. This is false advertising. I send an email to Spinaker customer service and after a couple days the response I received from the was “call the front desk”. Well now I’m stuck in a loop and just threw my hands up and went in with our stay. As for the resort, it was okay. To much timeshare sales stuff going on so we passed on most of the activities as they are really trying to sell you. Doubt we will be returning as there are many other resorts in Hilton Head that have better customer service and appreciate its patrons.

We were not pleased with Bluewater. The rooms are dated. Just plain, nothing special. Our biggest problem was the resort would not refresh towels and told us to wash them ourselves. You will have to buy toilet tissues, paper towels, Kleenex, dish washing liquid, laundry detergent and others cause they supply a very small amount when you check in. Don't stay at Bluewater. There are much better resorts in the area.

We loved the location of Bluewater Resort. It was away from the crowds and had a peaceful setting. The units are spacious and clean. They offer a lot of activities. The negative thing is that they charge 20 dollars a day activities fee. Also the sales person is relentless in trying to get you to come to a sales presentation. If you think you may be willing to wait until the end of the week as they double the amount they are willing to give you if you attend.

The good: The resort is on Skull Creek with beautiful views, and sunsets. Great to sit on the dock and relax and watch the boats come and go. There are a couple of organized activities each day. They do have several kayak tours throughout the week (I would suggest you partake, since you are charged a $20 per day amenity fee). Bike rentals are $6 (I think) per day and need to be returned each day by 6pm (unrealistic). There is a lagoon with a large and small alligator, turtles and birds. There is a lazy river/pool, another outdoor pool and indoor pool. Basketball goal, pickleball court, small basic mini golf, cornhole, horseshoes, bocce ball, and shuffleboard (shuffleboard court needs refurbishing...it's not flat). There is an area by the water with a nice covered outdoor kitchen, firepit and several chairs. There is also a floating dock that you could tie up your personal boat. It looks like there is an area where you can park your boat trailer also. The 2 BR units are good size and the kitchens are well equipped with enough essentials to prepare decent meals. It is next door to three great restaurants - Hudson's, Dockside, and Boathouse. The bad: Manditory $20 per day amenity fee. I find that extreme, unless you are using the kayaks. I feel the Marriott's have just as nice (or nicer) amenities and are ocean front - they don't charge an amenity fee. The lighting in the units is horrible, except in the Kitchen and Dining Room. It was impossible to read in the bedrooms or the family room. Light kits need to be added to the ceiling fans and the light bulbs need to be a minimum of 60 watts. I couldn't even read the tags on my clothes without walking into the bathroom with them - no lie! This is totally uncalled for. Both bedrooms face the public walkway, so you couldn't leave the blinds or the windows open. It is no where near the ocean. There is no one onsite during the night.

We booked through our Interval International timeshare. Our one bedroom unit was rundown, not particularly clean and very tired looking. Smelled like fish when we arrived, which dissipated as we ran water through the pipes. Floors were really dirty. Feet black after walking on them. Property is tired and the lazy river pool was shut down and out of commission. On the plus side was the complimentary green fees on a nearby lovely golf course, indoor pool and exercise room. The property is not well situated for beach access. However, the sister property, Spinnaker Waterfront, located a 15 minute drive away, is close to the beach and offers free parking for Bluewater guests. We did not like being charged $40 per day on top of the room fee for “resort amenities” particularly when the large pool was under renovation and one of the buildings was completely shut down for construction. We would rate this place barely average.
