We just got back from a week at this resort. The activities team is what made this resort spectacular. I want to give a huge thank you to Hope, Bryan, Maybelline, and Noah. They treated my kids as if they were family and made every activity so much fun. We did bingo; spikeball; putt putt; ping pong; bucketball; trivia; indoor pool swimming; water aerobics; biking; bubbles; and more! Hope was the perfect hostess for the activities and we loved her energy! You can rent bikes for $6 per day. There are plenty of bike trails outside of the resort and we went all 3 directions off the resort to test them all out. You are in walking distance (5 minute walk) to Dockside and Hudson’s restaurants. Dockside does a happy hour from 3-6 everyday of the week with $1 oysters and 50 cent shrimp (plus drink specials). Be sure to walk or drive over there! The resort is a beautiful resort and is right on the marsh water. They have a basketball hoop; shuffle board; horseshoes; bocce ball; and kayaks that all overlook the water. If you can get building 6400, it has the best view. However, we were in building 6100 (room 6147). If you get this room, you have a beautiful view of the pond on property and the marsh. It also is right between the check in building and the cabana. Both of these buildings are where all the activities are so 6100 was the perfect building for us this time of year. Be sure to attend the mimosa meet and greet. Bryan gave us tons of information about local restaurants; resort activities; and thrifting stores. He was a WEALTH of information! Also be sure to attend the wine and cheese event. The spread was beautiful- thank you Hope and Maybelline! The live music was great and we enjoyed meeting other guests. They even made sure to have lemonade for my kiddos. Things to be aware of: - there is a $20 per day activity fee. This is a downfall in my opinion as there are many resorts on hhi that do not charge this fee. - you have a short list of things to do before you check out so be sure to plan accordingly when packing up. - the beach is not accessible by foot or bike unless you want to bike 5 miles to the beach. It’s a good 15 minute drive. If you wanting a beach resort, this is not the resort for you (imo). - the beautiful outdoor pool is NOT heated. The indoor pool is small but nice. - I heard the rooms were recently renovated. If that’s the case, then it is only a partial renovation. The rooms are large but still have a dated feel to them. That doesn’t bother me but if you want a modern decor, this is not your place. We would go back again, but only during the off season as we are a “toes in the sand” kind of family. I’ve heard they offer a shuttle in the high season but we were there in February. This resort was a perfect choice for us in the cold season!
