We stayed at The Royal Hotel recently so we could attend the local Morecambe Prom Parkrun. The hotel is in a lovely location with picturesque scenery and lots of lovely walks around. The hotel was spotless and clean (modern) I could not fault it, we booked in for a meal in the pub and the food was amazing (you have to have the steak) we will definitely be back for more. The staff were absolutely fantastic, Maddie who looked after us was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and we really appreciated this. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. I would highly recommend and we will 100% be back in the summer for sunny views rather than snowy.

We visited the Royal for a late lunch today, following a walk along the cliff tops in Heysham. The food, atmosphere and service were faultless and we would highly recommend this to anyone who fancies delicious, beautifully prepared food which is a cut above the average without being in any way pretentious. I had the best fish and chips ever ( equal to the Magpie in Whitby) and my partner had the steak and ale pie which was a proper home made, stand alone pie with a rich beery gravy and delicious carrots and crispy kale. We couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, so ordered Tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding with our coffees and they were equally wonderful. The chef really knows what they are doing and hasn’t been tempted to over complicate any of the dishes. The prices are not low, but are absolutely fair, given the quality of the ingredients and cooking. We will definitely be back and would love to spend the night next time. 10/10

Food was excellent and good value for money all considered, mitchellen star food it's not but good hearty food it is. Not quite sure about a large glass of wine costing me £11, not a place I will be getting drunk in. I ordered the lasagne and my partner ordered the steak n ale pie, both where nice, plenty of filling in the pie as well, we had creme caramel deserts to follow as, as long as you ordered at least 2 course we got 25% off, all in all a great experience

Met up for a college reunion with a few friends and had a marvellous time. The room was clean and the facilities were fantastic with lots of extras like the coffee machine, fresh milk and Lavender sleep spray. The food was well priced and great with the full breakfast being a particular highlight. Thanks go to Phil, Michelle and all the staff who gave us a great stay. We'll be back!

What a great place! Just came back from a few nights' stay with friends visiting the local area. All the staff were brilliant with us from the reception, through to the bar and dining room (special mention to Phil and Michelle for excellent service). The food was superb. We had a freshly cooked breakfast each day and after a first night's, faultless meal, we decided that we didn't want to go anywhere else and ate there the next night. Best steak and ale pie I've ever had. Finally, the rooms were spotless, well appointed and comfortable. The Royal is thoroughly recommended

We really enjoyed the meals we ordered but were really disappointed none of the Sunday roast options were available and it was only 545pm. My son and I were really looking forward to a roast and we were only told when ordering our food. However, I did really enjoy the chicken ballotine, the chilli cream sauce served with it was lovely. The waitress who served us was very helpful and friendly too.

Booked a table for my mums birthday as she lives nearby. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. The place was so busy and theres no wonder why... amazing food, amazing service and maddie is awesome! Told us she was working all day but still couldn't do enough to help us by bringing drinks and finding time to engage in small conversation despite how busy she was!! We will absolutely be back for some more espresso martini's and whale (fish) and chips!! Great Job guys. Thank you ❤️

We stayed overnight after returning on the ferry from the Isle of Man. The Royal is a lovely property in the old village. There is large beer garden behind the hotel, which is within easy walking distance of Heysham Head, a beautiful spot overlooking the sea. Dinner was delicious and our server Eloise was a delight. Breakfast was generous and tasty. The rooms, bed, and bath were all uncomfortable and clean. If you need a place to stay before or after the Isle of Man ferry, this is the place as it is only about five minutes from the ferry port yet in a quiet spot in the pretty village of Heysham. I would return in a heartbeat.
