"A truly unique stay in a genuine medieval castle, and I chose the Josephine Suite, one of only a few rooms available. I especially loved the medieval windows in the room—perfect for taking photos. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and overall, the value for money was good. The nights were very quiet with almost no light pollution, allowing for beautiful stargazing. The castle tour is highly recommended; a dedicated staff member will guide you through the entire castle and up to the top, offering stunning views. There are even peacocks in the courtyard! If you're looking for a truly unique castle stay, this is highly recommended."

"Bed very low and hard bedhead curved so pillows fall down behind. Breakfast advertised 17.50 when went they charged you for individual items which turns out very expensive. Parking only 7 cars free in underground carpark. Bar has awful draught beer if you like beer with lemon flavour your ok. Asked for sofa bed for other guest when arrived not set up or bedding. After paying alot of money for 1 night stay thought ot wd be good. Sorry but i would not book this hotel again"

"La habitación era muy agradable, situada al lado del pub con su propia entrada, muy tranquila con una hermosa vista al jardín. Había mucho espacio y almacenamiento y la caja de refresco tenía una buena variedad. El baño era sin escena y enorme con una selección de toallas. Si tuviera que ser muy atractivo, diría que habría sido agradable tener un cubiclo de ducha más grande, ya que era un cepillo de tad. El propio pub fue tan bienvenido y agradable y las opciones vegetarianas fueron deliciosas para nuestra cena. En general, qué estancia sorprendente. ¡Será definitivamente de vuelta!"

"Be warned, this is not a hotel as its name suggests, nor is it the building pictured (that’s the adjacent pub of the same name which I discovered on arrival has nothing to do with the rooms). There’s no reception, no visible staff and no contact at all with anyone other than a vague WhatsApp on arrival day giving you a keybox code and info about a self-service breakfast. It’s not obvious where the entrance is at all, it’s poorly light and took some time to work out which key box was mine and how to open the thing. Great fun for a lone female on a dark, wet Feb night! Worse though is the fact that after faffing around (and genuinely sizing up if I should turn around & go home), I realised that the one for my room had been left still on-code - not secure at all. Once inside, I find my room, the Radcliffe - decent size with tiny ensuite. However, the window didn’t open, the tv remote had a gouge on its side (nearly cut my hand) and the toilet was suspiciously noisy … then by morning completely blocked. But as it’s not a hotel and has no-one around, there was no alternative but to use it - disgusting! There was also no visible fire escape info in the room which made me feel very uncomfortable especially as it appeared I was the only person in the entire building. Then there’s the breakfast room - a walk-in cupboard with a shelf of cereals, some fruit, toaster, microwave & fridge with the basics. No proper coffee and no where to sit so presumably the idea is make what you want then take it to your room. On the plus side, the bedroom seemed clean, was spacious, decent shower and clearly effort had gone in to making sure there was plenty food to choose from at breakfast (albeit it was essentially s/c). All in all though, this is accommodation is not as advertised and IMHO is not a safe option for solo travellers - really think twice before booking."

"La habitación no estaba lista, así que se le dio una tarjeta para dos bebidas gratis pero el personal del bar me había cobrado por las bebidas gratis ... había dos botellas de cerveza gratis en la nevera en la habitación, pero no había apertura de botellas. Además , el cuarto estaba caliente y no podía colgar mucho ."
