Mareva Apartments

Well.. what can I say, small, basic, clean and typically Greek. Great location 10 mins walk up to Koutouloufari, (worth doing, beautiful traditional Greek village) 10 mins walk down the hill to Hersonissos. (Bars, shops and very lively at night). Yiannis the self titled "sexy greek barman" made our stay! Lots of laughs and always checking we were ok.. Thank you Yiannis! We will be back!! Would not hesitate to recommend Mareva Apartments (a toaster in the room would be well received)

Just got back from a fantastic family 10 night holiday staying at Mareva, a great family hotel, make you feel welcome from the moment you get there. Yannis and the rest of his family willing help in anyway, will hopefully be back next year, all the best Mark 🙂

What a fantastic holiday we’ve just had. We chose Mareva apartments for the location as when we came 2 years ago to Hersonissos we loved spending time in Koutouloufari. Mareva was a 10 mins walk up to Koutouloufari and 10 mins walk down to Hersonissos (ideal location). But the best thing about our stay was the hospitality we received. Family run business who made us feel very welcome from the start. A special mention to Yannis the owner who made our holiday one to remember and Nagy who every morning greeted us with his happy, friendly smile. I can totally understand people returning to Mareva and we will definitely be going back.

What a wonderful place. Nine of us (ages 12-86) were warmly welcomed at Mareva Apartments by the wonderful family who run it. The accommodation is adequate (basic) and clean and some rooms have amazing views. The position of the apartments is fantastic - a quiet spot within easy walking distance to the town and beautiful villages. The hosts are helpful and kind and always ready with an anecdote and cold drink (and even music) after an evening at one of the local nearby eateries. A fantastic oasis of calm and warmth near a busy town. A full recommend and great value.

Stayed for a week in June. Quiet location in between the village up hill and the main touristy strip down hill. No problem walking to either if you have no mobility problems. Drop off is in the town at a Bus Stop and we were told a taxi would pick us up to take us up the hill, that was free on the way in. We walked on the way down to the bus stop opposite side of the street when checking out. Accommodation is typical Greek Self Catering which is what we like. Very basic but clean. Top tip take a loo roll with you as you only get a small one on arrival. Towels and sheets are changed once during the stay which was adequate. Beds and pillows comfy. Didn’t need aircon but would be £8 a night if we did need it. Small pool and pool bar. Staff pleasant and composed of a family running the place.

If in doubt book here, I have never felt so welcomed and relaxed on a holiday. We visited Crete for a wedding and could not have picked a better place. A small family run place, the accommodation is basic and they make that clear from the start if the stay, nothing was too much for the amazing staff. They welcomed us even though we arrived much later than check in, got us drinks as soon as we settled in, the staff treat you as if your family and will do everything to make your stay perfect. The poolside bar was made available throughout the day and the breakfast was fab. Staff acted like personal tour guides advising us on the best places to go, ordering us taxis etc. the family that run this place could not have been more helpful if they tried, we will be booking next year as I would not chose anywhere else. So many beautiful wee places to visit close by and we found it east to commute to all the big attractions. 5 stars is not enough for this place, they deserve so much more. Cannot wait to return.
