Travelodge Hotel - Hickstead

The hotel is supposed to have updated rooms compared to other Travelodges. Well, there was no sofa in this one (the type that collapses when you sit on it). I didn’t miss the sofa. Therefore the room appears larger. The TV is much smaller, poor reception on BBC1 in our room, totally pixelated. There was a fan but I had to go to reception for a hairdryer. Lots of milk, coffee, tea etc available in reception. There was ample hanging space with 5 hangers and open shelves but no drawers at all. It all felt minimalist. There were USB charger sockets each side of the bed but no plug sockets. The plug sockets were on the dressing table to accommodate the TV and kettle which you can use for other things. Standard Travelodge bed. The room felt a bit empty and minimalist.

The staff at this hotel are really lovely, so welcoming and helpful, especially the manager. We went 2x in May 25 for business meetings in Brighton and the location was very easy to find. Good for dogs too as there's a little bit of greenery for the last quick walk before bed. It's not 5 stars because both times in different rooms, the cleaning let them down. I found a hairnet in one room on the floor and a left over straw in the other. Also no soap in the bathroom soap dispenser. When I raised it, it was fixed immediately but this was still disappointing.

Amazing stay at this travelodge.. the staff were so helpful and friendly Chloe especially made this a pleasant stay…. The room was clean and fresh and quite facing the back of hotel. We definitely would stay here again at this hotel. Thank you for great stay and wonderful customer service
