We had a lovely stay at this beautiful pub. The room was lovely and the decor was beautiful. Comfy bed and plenty of towels etc. It's quite remote and public transport is limited but a kind local picked us up from an event in Cranbrook that evening. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We just wish we'd have had time to stay for a roast. Would highly recommend staying here.

The hotel was very cosy on arrival and very friendly staff greeted us. We had booked a double room and was upgraded as part of the policy we were told if it was available. I have to say the room was stunning and the views that it offered were magnificent! A continental breakfast was included and was perfect for what we wanted, we were told if a cooked breakfast was wanted we could visit the village cafe just across the road, we didn’t take part on this occasion. I was supposed at the low cost of the room I was imagining a basic setup but it was welcoming and charming along with lots of history.

Is it a coincidence that the Royal Oak is so busy for food now the new chef has started ? Was in there Sunday and there wasn’t a table to be had And judging by the size of the foil wrapped parcels people were carrying to their cars, there is obviously enough food in the sharing platters Good atmosphere and great staff

Slept soundly in a very comfy bed..and was pleasantly surprised at how peaceful my room was considering the hotels central location. The staff were really friendly and I enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant..roast beef with all the trimmings! Would highly recommend..

My friend and I by chance went for a drink in the pub . Great place. Warm and friendly staff. Lovely chunky chips. ( the chef was kind enough to cook after hours ) If you love dogs this is the place for you too. Highly recommend.
