We went to this National Park to hike. My wife was able to get her Life National Park Senior Pass - BAM at the front entrance. If you are over 62 I think, look it up before you take your trip, and take advantage of it. Oh, the places we walked - along the cliffs, down to the black sand beach, past the black sand beach and onto the lava rock cliffs beyond it. It was warm (bring water notably for the walk beyond the black sand beach) and rugged (wear comfortable hiking shoes - not sandals or flops. We covered several miles. One of the pop machines was jammed with quarters, but we were able to use the other one. It's a very nice, well kept park. Please don't litter, and stay away from the residence (which is clearly marked - it's NOT a ranger station).
