Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Andamans

I was really pleased with the arrangement Taj F&B team did for my Dads 70th birthday. We had an amazing dinner at Shoreline restaurant and they had prepared the table for us with sea shells and corals making the dinner a lot more special than expected. Additionally, we had Asian - definitely recommend it. Special thanks to Rajiv, Sandeep and Pabitra for this special gesture.

The location and grounds are stunning and the room was fabulous, but I was surprised that there were no robes, no coffee maker and no turn down service. There were also no colourful cushions as per the hotel pictures. The AC was very drafty blowing directly onto the bed and we were disturbed all one afternoon by a very noisy grass-cutter. I also hated the slatted bathroom floor because the cleaners wouldn't be able to access the underfloor area. The service and quality of the food were both superb but we were extremely disappointed with the design of the common areas. So much so that we almost left after our first night. There was a complete lack of atmosphere in both the bar area - which was dingy and unappealling - and the large restaurant which echoed with the sound of screaming kids. We also found the prices to be very high: 500 rupees for a roti is ridiculous. There was another restaurant but that was for just ten people and you had to commit to paying for a very expensive taster menu. The pool was extremely long but as it was all one area, children tended to monopolise the central area and so it was impossible to do laps. We were extremely frustrated by the lack of information and a map of the hotel. We were given a long briefing when we arrived but when you are travel weary and keen to get to your room it's not a good time to take on board a raft of information. We discovered on day three that there was info on the TV but it was impossible to access unless you called someone to show you how to do it.

Had an great stay at Taj Exotica Andaman! The hospitality was top-notch, the property was breathtaking, and the food was absolutely divine. A special shoutout to Rajeev for making our experience even more exceptional. Can’t wait to be back!

I stayed in the villa for 2 days with family and one word to summarise my experience is “amazing”. Starting for welcome to stay or food everything was perfect. The welcome song was so nice and everything is so well managed by the staff. They made us feel like home.

This was our second stay with Taj following our stay at Jai Mahal Palace. What a wonderful property here at Andamans, just like its people. The staff here are extremely helpful, professional and they go the extra mile to make you feel absolutely at comfort. Starting from the security guard at the gate right up to the trainees, their behaviour is so polite and welcoming. Ms. Pooja, Ms. Riddhi, Ms. Samraeggi made sure we had the smoothest check in, a heart warming welcome, especially the part where they took our picture for us and the surprise following it. And Mr. Rishabh, what a polite and well spoken *** to have at the front desk. Special thanks to Mr. Sandeep, Ms. Rupa, Chef Deepak, Mr. Vishal, Mr. Sai, Mr. Manorath for making our food and dining experience more enjoyable. We were served amazing cocktails by trainee Mr. Ayan. As much as we enjoyed riding our bicycles, the buggy rides were fun too, thanks to Mr. Sameer and even the trainees. I am thankful to Mr. Akash for making those long walks to our villa with the food and drink trays and his gentle smile. We had a blast at seeing the fishes and other sea animals as we went through the inter-tidal walk with Mr. Jyotish and Mr. Daniel. The landscape, the lime rocks, the flora was absolutely breathtaking. Having a scuba dive training center right at the property was cherry on top. Had a good training session with Mr. Viraj. We loved our stay so much that we extended it to 5 more days. This was our honeymoon and I am so grateful that I got to be here in the cradle of nature amongst such fantastic hosts, such good people. Had good relaxing spa because of Ms. Kinjal. But the *** of the moment and of our stay was Mr. Vikas Kumar. It was really kind of him to send his regards to us and the following day he literally found us from the throng of guests and met us to ask about our comfortable stay. On a personal note, I would like to thank him and his team for helping me with the surprise dinner for my husband on the 14th of February. All I had asked for was just one candle and one flower on the table, but even I was surprised to see the surprise. What a beautiful set up that was. His gestures and the ability to go that extra distance is something I will forever remember. It was a special evening for me and my husband since we never celebrated Valentines. We will remember Mr. Vikas always as the *** who helped us break our old tradition of 13 years and make a new one to celebrate 14th of February this day onwards . What better place than Taj to do so. Waah Taj !! We are definitely coming back with more people to Taj Andamans !!!

Chef Jai Singh Shekhawat is a star…all the staff are smart but he takes personal interest at every meal and regaled us with stories of his native Rajasthan …he has a wealth of experience in hospitality and a tremendous amount of respect and pride in the Taj Group …really made our stay and dietary satisfaction stellar at Taj Exotica Andamans
