The Oasis Hotel

I have been coming here off and on since 2004. Had hoped that new management would have improved things since my last visit in 2022, but sadly not. Rooms are dirty (and have not been upgraded since about 2011). Staff uncaring and difficult to communicate with, although the 2 members of staff I have known all this time are friendly and fine. All the really good staff left years ago. Ayurveda here used to the the gold standard, but is now just a conveyer belt activity carried out by semi-qualified staff, at least one of whom told me he was leaving in 10 days. WiFi is rubbish - to be fair it was never brilliant, but even that has deteriorated. Good points: The pool is still glorious The food is still authentic and delicious Seriously considering leaving earlier than planned. What a great shame as this was once paradise.

Stayed here at the end of december 2024 to the middle of January 2025. Generally, very good hotel with very helpful and kind staff. Restaurant is also not bad, though prices are a bit higher than average, but given that to get to another restaurant you need to pay about 2000 LKR for tuktuk, the difference isn't going to be that significant. The only drawback is the beach or its absence... Don't get me wrong it's there and you can even walk around it, but no swimming owing to enormous waves. So if you want to swim you need to get tuktuk that will bring you to the nearest beach, which is about 1.5km from the hotel or you can simply go there on foot. Besides that, no other inconvenience. Hotel's worth its stars.

Excellent place for a day outing with family and friends. The picturesque and tranquil environment and the stunning beach and lagoon enhance its uniqueness. Specially the hotel manager Mr.Senaka is a smart and humble person. Staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our day out. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. 100% recommended.
