Hadlow Manor

We booked this hotel through Secret Escapes and we were a little apprehensive before we arrived having had a disappointing stay at another Secret Escapes Hotel recently . However all our fears were instantly dispelled on arrival and it just got better. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. On my wife's birthday the C hef came to our the table and discussed our food options. He then cooked us both an exceptional meal , better than we have had in some very exclusive restaurants . We were very impresses and plan to come back with friends in the future. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.l

Lucky this ‘business is going out of business ‘ how can you sleep at night knowing you have shattered the dreams of a young couple planing/saving /working so hard to make their day special. To ring them 12 weeks before their day to say the wedding is off. Shock/disbelief/upset doesn’t even cover it . Shame on you, Your behaviour is reprehensible

The building is charming. Room wascomfortable and quiet. There was a wedding at the hotel on the day of our arrival. Arriving for breakfast next morning, we were told that as we weren't part of the wedding party they didn't quite know what to do with us!(a couple) We were offered to sit on a table of 10 amongst the wedding guests, lots of them, in a small crowded room.We declined and asked for a table for 2. There wasn't one. We were told we could sit in the bar! Eventually we were offered a garden table and chairs on a patio. This all took around half an hour. At this point we very nearly left. The wedding guests had virtually cleared the buffet. We had to ask for some fruit and there was no coffee. The restaurant manager tried her best.The staff admitted they didn't know that there were any other guests staying! At check out I mentioned our disappointment and the issues. The response was both unprofessional and unacceptable. No one appeared to have a clue about how to deal with a complaint. After emailing management we have been offered a small 'discount' Very poor customer service and general lack of understanding of guest expectations. We stay in hotels all over the UK. This experience was one of the most disappointing.
