Wirtshaus am Treidelpfad

We stayed for one night. Our room was airy, spacious and comfortable. The floor was dusty and gritty and the towels were old and hard, but overall the room was good and we had a good night's sleep. But the restaurant experience.........terrible. We were advised to book a table, which we did and we arrived just before 7pm. We were seated promptly and ordered water and wine. The water arrived and it was chilled nicely, but the white wine arrived at room temperature. We requested ice and an ice bucket, and had to wait ages for it. Our food order was taken, just two main meals and a simple salad. We waited, and waited and waited for it to arrive. Many other people arrived, ate and left.....and we were still waiting for our meals to arrive. At one point a waitress asked if everything had been OK with our meals and I explained that we still hadn't had it and could she please find out where it was. We didn't see her again. And we waited and waited. We were just left sitting there, being ignored and getting hungrier by the minute. After AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES my partner complained to the lady in charge (the daughter of the owner) and she came out with all sorts of excuses. Some ten minutes later she came to our table and said that it would be a further 20 minutes! We had ordered schnitzels and roast potatoes.....surely that wouldn't take nearly two hours to make??? And when the meals finally did arrive THEY WERE NOT WHAT WE HAD ORDERED. The following morning we went for breakfast within the allotted breakfast times; there was no table set for us. Other folk were there and clearly a table had been prepared for their arrival. Many of the breakfast items had run out and the grumpy owner/chef was obviously not going to replace them. Nor was he going to issue an apology for the terrible restaurant experience the previous night, of which he was aware because he was the chef that night too. The restaurant was chaotic, the service and customer interaction was appalling and the whole experience made us feel like unwelcome foreigners in a beautiful part of Germany. Very unfortunate.

... 14 Euro (28 DM) für einen "08/15 Käseteller", der aus 6 dünnen Scheibchen Emmentaler und 5 halben Scheiben Graubrot plus einem Mini-Stückchen Butter auf einem verwelkten Salatblättchen bestand, ist - was das "Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis" angeht - stark unbefriedigend, bis besch... . Küche ist ansonsten gut und reell, aber gestern, das war Abzocke, das zahlt man nicht mal in der Großstadt!
