Barnett Hill Hotel

The service was excellent. Mr Lajos looked after me with the highest professionalism, and i am looking forward to returning with my team The food was amasing and the coffee was exactly as I like it, the grounds and walks make this venue the perfect location for a break or a conference

The hotel itself and its grounds are gorgeous. However, we stayed for our anniversary and unfortunately had an issue with the cleanliness of our room. We booked a comfy king room and were given a courtyard room, which was modern but looked nothing like the photo of this room type on the website (bright, airy spacious room). This wasn’t really an issue as the room was still big enough and the bathroom modern. However, we then noticed some dead spiders and bugs on the bathroom floor, a hair on the bed and dust on all the windowsills. I understand that a courtyard room is likely to have more bugs than a room in the main building, however a cleaner had clearly not been in the room for a good while. I spoke to a man a reception who was apologetic said he’d get us moved to another room right away. I then had to wait for the general manager who wouldn’t move us (despite the fact the car park had no more than 10 vehicles parked, so the hotel was clearly not busy) and instead he got a cloth and just dusted away the spiders from the floor (no apology given from him). Over the course of the evening we found another 8 spiders in our room and noticed that the drinks tray was dirty (photo attached). Unfortunately at this point we read some other reviews on trip advisor and realised that other people had similar experiences and ended up being moved to rooms that were worse, so decided not to complain again as we didn’t want to further spoil our anniversary evening. I’d like to mention that we had a lovely dinner and drinks in the bar. The general manager brought us a glass of champagne each (unsure whether this was for our anniversary or to apologise for the dirty room) which we appreciated. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, it just needed better cleaning. It would have been really easy for the manager to keep us happy and change our room, but unfortunately he didn’t see a problem

Pretty gardens and an attractive hotel. Stylish interior. Very clean. Excellent customer service. Staff were extremely friendly professional and attentive. Comfy room had a very small bathroom with no bath but was nicely presented. Great breakfast.

I will start by saying we had a lovely stay here ! Before we arrived we booked dinner for the Saturday night at 8.30pm with the central reservation team. When we checked in, we were told the kitchen shut at 8.30 which seemed ridiculous on a Saturday night and we brought our reservation forward, so my initial feelings were mixed. The room was lovely - spacious, clean with a lovely bathroom and a massive very comfortable bed and the grounds are nice for walking around. We when for the Silent Pool distillery nearby which was great. When we came down for dinner, the staff were friendly and the bar wand outside was nice for drinks. The food all has names like pork and beef which sounds pretentious. The portions are fine dining which meant they were smaller that I would have liked . However the food was excellent and by the end we were not hungry. We had a lovely cocktail in the bar before bed. Next day breakfast was fab - we had breakfast included in our rate and there was a great buffet plus menu order so we could order eggs Benedict from the menu and supplement in the buffet. Despite some reservations after the kitchen shutting at 8.30, we had a great time - hotel and rooms are lovely, food is really good and staff are fab !

Staying at Barnett Hill felt like stepping into a fairytale. Nestled in beautifully kept gardens, the hotel is simply stunning! Beyond the dreamlike location, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their exceptional kindness and hospitality, not only during my stay but also afterwards. I had accidentally left a backpack in my room, and the staff went above and beyond to help me retrieve it and have it safely sent back to Italy. A special thank you to Renata for her care and support – it meant a lot to me. I sincerely hope to return to Surrey soon, and when I do, I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else.

The Duty manager Lajos made sure our wedding ran incredibly smoothly despite numerous last minute requests. We had a fantastic day and no request went unanswered. I can’t express how happy we were with the venue, staff and overall experience. The rooms were great and it was easy to check in and out and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Thank you very much to all staff and thank you so much Lajos for all the work you put in on our behalf.
