Staff are very friendly, breakfast was good, I had a sausage and bacon sandwich one morning, it was a proper sandwich.

A little gem of a hotel. Very clean and all the staff are so welcoming, thank you Louise and Cheryl, we were made to feel at home, tea/coffee on arrival, and a lovely home cooked breakfast each morning. Our pooch was totally spoilt, with her own breakfast and treats. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Having been slightly apprehensive about booking this establishment due to the lack of TripAdvisor and other mixed reviews, we decided to go with our gut and book, and are really glad that I did!! All the staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived with a nice hot drink on arrival. The bedroom (No.4) was clean, comfortable and had the usual hot drink making facilities within. The bathroom was adequate and the shower over the bath was hot and powerful. Our room was at the front of the building, facing the main road, so although there was some traffic noise, with the sash window closed and the traffic lighter over night, this did not disturb our sleep. Breakfast is served in the ground floor dining room, which is the semi help-yourself cereals, fruit juice and hot drinks, as well as a variety of cooked or continental options to order. These were very tasty and were generously sized portions. We also liked the option of being able to dine in the hotel in the evening. Again there was a good variety menu which was reasonably priced. The food was served hot and promptly. The kitchen is closed for evening meals on a Monday, however the local White Hart Pub Beefeater is a five minute stroll up the road, with also reasonably priced meals. The location of the Guestling Hall Hotel is perfect for visiting East Sussex and places further afield, and with bus stops situated five minutes walk away (adjacent to the White Hart Pub) with regularly hourly buses to either Hastings and Rye, you can leave you car at the Hotel and not have to worry about parking. If you are looking for a top-of-the range boutique hotel then this is not the place for you, however, for somewhere which is comfortable, good value with friendly staff then this hotel delivers. Overall we were made to feel at home and would thoroughly recommend staying here!

We have been here for 3bay for are 45 wedding anniversary the welcome is the best we have had in a long time staff ar excellent the food is good and well priced the ground are good and the pool was good toroom was nice and bed was comfortable we will come back soon

What a fabulous and quirky hotel, the entrance room along with the lounge and bar are filled with artifacts from around the world. The staff are fantastic and so was the breakfast. My only complaint is that you need to put up either black out blinds or have lined curtains to keep the early morning sunshine out, other than that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. We had a great stay.

Charming and very comfortable historic and beautifully appointed hotel. Large car park. Excellent food and service. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and attentive staff. Very comfortable and good size bedroom. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Set in a beautiful and peace location, this quirky hotel is very welcoming and accommodating. There seemed to be no request that the staff could not accommodate, staying over two nights with many journeys in and around the location it was all organised by our hosts. We travelled quite a long way on a warm sunny day to get to the hotel and the first thing we were asked when we entered the reception area was “ would you like cup of tea or other refreshment”.The staff did their homework and made sure that not only was our stay was enjoyable but also of that of our friends. 5 stars!!!

It was our 50th Wedding Anniversary this year, and our entire 14-strong family (3 sons, their wives and their children) stayed at Guestling Hall Hotel for two nights over the early May Bank Holiday weekend. It was perfect.. the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable, the food was both generous and very tasty (we had two evening meals there as well as breakfast in a private dining room), the lounge areas were, well.. great for lounging in! and above all the hotel staff members were really friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. Hastings itself was a great place to be over the Bank Holiday weekend - there was loads going on - perfect for both adults and kids. By an amazing stroke of good fortune the weather was brilliant and the local water shortage (caused by a major mains leak not far away) didn't affect the hotel. It simply could not have been better. Thank you so much.

Found a gem of a hotel It’s quirky and fascinating We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who offered us a drink on arrival Our room was great , big bathroom with a amazing shower After great nights sleep we had a delicious breakfast , great menu with lots of choice Definitely will be back
