Gran alojamiento en Las Peñas, situado en u edificio histórico pero totalmente reformado. Servicio excelente, preciosas vistas del rio desde la habitación, perfectos lugares comunes en el comedor y la piscina. Un lugar donde descansar en Guayaquil.

The hotel is superbly located at the bottom of the Las Peñas neighborhood, next to the waterfront and Malecon 2000. The room had a stunning view and was impeccably designed. Everything was perfect. The breakfast was the best I had in my stay in Ecuador, with a beautiful egg dish, warm bread, and delicious fruit. The hotel is capably run by brother and sister team, Ikar and Izzy. They speak perfect English and will do anything to enhance your stay. I had a very late flight and hung out at the hotel all evening. They were welcoming and gracious. Just walk outside and you are already at all the things to see, coffee places, restaurants.

Shocking experience. Booked accommodation. Confirmed and paid. Confirmed and paid for airport transfers. No transfer at airport. Called number listed for Las Penas - guy didnt even know what was going on. Gave me a number to call for person who "works" at hotel. Got the airport info people to call him - he also didnt have a clue. Ended up checking into the Hilton. Paid for nothing!!! Very disappointing. Be careful!

We stayed at this B&B for a very short time - basically, from dinnertime to early morning when we left to catch a flight. Our room was HUGE, with a separate kitchen and a seating area. The hotel description stated that the room had a washer and dryer (the reason we booked this B&B) but that information was incorrect. There is paid laundry service available instead, which I was disappointed about. There isn't a normal "hotel layout" here, or at least not that we saw. The reception area was on one floor, and we took an elevator to a stop where our room (and no others that we could see) was located. The hotel entryway has the elevator and a parking garage - a little strange. Still, the room was comfortable, the people we dealt with were pleasant, and the location is right on the malecon, although not the part you generally see in photos. I would stay here again - Guayaquil has a reputation for crime but we felt perfectly safe walking around at night trying to find a restaurant. All in all, a nice (albeit quick) stay.

We stayed here before and after going to visit the Galapagos Islands. Our first room was enormous with an amazing view. We had a huge balcony overlooking the river and with a view of the Malecon if we looked over the side. There were two sinks and a massive closet. We would almost be able to live there. Our second room was even more incredible. It was an entire apartment - living room, kitchen, dining area and huge bedroom (with a couch) and giant closet/bathroom. The breakfast they offered was delicious and filling -- any kind of egges with cheese and ham (or no ham for vegetarians!) They also make their own juice and offer delicious fruit and bread. The hotel was also in an amazing location. It is on a super cute street in Los Penas. A 20 minute walk one way will bring you to the Malecon and tons of restuarants and parks in the main part of the city. A 10-15 minute walk in the other direction will bring you to a bunch of restaurants on the water. We were told that Guayaquil was not super safe after dark so it was nice to have the option of eating at different restaurants that were close enough to the hotel that we felt we were in a safe zone. The staff was phenomenal. They were incredibly kind and helpful. They helped book a cab for us to the airport when all the taxis had apparently gone home due to terrible weather. They contacted a local restaurant to bring food by delivery so we didn't have to walk outside in the rain. They also allowed us to stay in the hotel for seven hours after checkout. We were allowed to use all the facilities and they watched our luggage while we went out. The experience we had was wonderful and the price we paid made this feel like a complete steal. We highly recommend staying here.

The rooms we, a group of 6, had were fantastic. Front rooms have a river view. Owner, Ekar, his sister, and other staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable, and complete with small fridge loaded with beverages. The breakfasts were superb and freshly prepared, including freshly made blackberry juice. The location in the La Pensa district is safe, charming, and colorful. Restaurants are nearby along the river walk (Malecon). I recommend this place with pleasure.

First, the welcoming staff, Egor?, was wonderful. He spoked English very well and made us feel welcome. He ensured we had everything we needed and gave all the necessary information. Second, we were blown away by the room, just the sheer size of it, the walk in closet, the 12+ feet ceiling, the full window with the river view, were all fantastic. The next morning, we had a great breakfast of egg, fruits, bread, juices, coffee and they also made great looking and delicious pancakes for my son. It was perfect. Egor also recommended Mercado Artesanal shopping within walking distance which we love and shopped until we dropped and ate at Mami T that was 2 min walk away. Egor's sister, Izzy?, was on duty next day and she was equally amazing with her welcoming smile and great English. The hotel is on a cobble stoned street that was guarded by security and police every few hundred yards. You can walk safely down one direction to La Perla (giant ferris wheel) and Malecon or walk the other direction where Wyndham and Mami T are. The swimming pool on the fifth floor with river view and hammocks was great too. The modern place has multi floors but gave you homely feel because of the staff and it is tastefully decorated. Disliked · No stairs to get in and out of the pool. That's a bit challenging if you are not fit.

We booked a Galapagos cruise rather last minute, and the penthouse suite was the only booking available here- so happy we spoiled ourselves! Great fun from the start- giant historic door on the cobblestone street & riding up the windowed elevator. Then 180 views up and down the river from the kitchen/dining/living area- divine at night! Generous breakfast on the terrace. A lovely swim in the pool. (I would note that there was no shallow end, ladder, or stairs, so keep that in mind if you are considering bringing younger kids or are not too fit.) Of further practical note: Great a/c, water temp & pressure, firm comfy mattress, convenient laundry, everything clean and in good working order. If you come by Uber, note that the hotel entrance can only be reached by car from the south end security checkpoint. If you are dropped at the north end, of Calle Numa Pompilio Llona, you will have to face the cobblestones and stairs/ramp with your luggage. Overall, Hello Las Penas Siglo XXl was a perfect location for walking the tourist areas of the city. We felt very safe and warmly welcomed by Iker and Izzy.

Hello! Las Peñas Siglo XXI exceeded my expectations; if I return to Guayaquil (as I very much hope to do), I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. The location was perfect - on a picturesque street in Las Peñas, steps from the Malecón 2000 and the many restaurants of the Puerto Santa Ana. The room was clean and comfortable. The building was an interesting mix of old and new, with quirky touches (check out the light fixtures!) and a spectacular terrace overlooking the River Guayas. As a birder, I appreciated the heron rookery on the trees below, though the roosting birds definitely presented some, er, challenges for pedestrians. Breakfasts were ample and delicious. Best of all was the hospitality and kindness of the brother/sister management team, Iker and Izzy. I was welcomed with fresh limeade and a bowl of fruit. They helped me through the one bad experience of my trip (I strayed into an area I shouldn’t have; next time, I’ll ask before I wander!). And they were just plain fun to talk with. Can’t recommend highly enough! (Note: I mistakenly posted this review first for another, similarly-named hotel…I will try to have that review taken down, but in the meantime, rest assured: this is the real deal.)
