Guangzhou Yuanlai Collection Homestay (Yongqingfang Lizhiwan Branch)

This homestay has got the nice transitional xiguan style for its room designs and decorative. The owner is very nice warm and welcoming. She helped me to check in and check out, even booked a taxi to the airport because there are issues with my payment options( I paid her back in cash). One of the best things is at level 5 root top. The root top garden layouts have brought back all of my childhood memories as I grew up in this city.

Had an amazing stay at this homestay, the owners are super nice and friendly. The boss saw that it was about to rain when I was heading out and offered me an umbrella, and the lady at the reception is very friendly and walked with me to the subway station and we had a great chat. The mattress is firm and they provide both soft and hard pillows for me to choose from. I can tell a lot of care went into running the place. The cafe/bar downstairs is lovely as well. Unfortunately both are affected by roadworks outside so the entrance is a bit hidden

Very good experience in this Xiguan style building hotel. The building itslef is an official Guangzhou Heritage Building. The location is adjacent to Guangzhou famous YongQingFang Lizhi Lake, and Shangxiajiu pedestrian walk. Next to the hotel also have a local authentic dimsum restaurant which serve from early morning til late night, a cafe is there downstair too. Very good neighborhood, many local food and resto nearby. We booked a 2-bed family room, everything is well provided including three unit of heaters that warm us in the middle of GZ's spring. Folding table and chair for us to have dinner are also provided. The front office are also very helpful in guiding us. Mr. Chen and Ms. Yaya even help us to book a car to take us to the airport on our last day here (the car is neat than average didis here). Just a suggestion if you are not local and tend to stay in this boutique hotel, make sure you have an active wechat therefore you can comunicate with the receptionist if any needed.

Gorgeous hotel room (the pictures don’t do it justice) in a rustic style, and even though our booking said “no window”, we had a huge window into an internal chamber with a skylight, just not to outside, which was a little grey anyway so no loss on our part! It’s a shame the room is small, so there isn’t much room for large luggage, but otherwise a good space for a weekend trip. The bed was also really comfy! The staff were friendly and had local English maps and food guides! P.s It was raining our trip but the rooftop terrace is a lovely place to chill in the sun.

Full of antique furniture which makes a good vibe and feel like you are all the way back in time! Yet I would say the host could do better in cleaning and I believe the experience would be nicer with an upgraded mattress and perhaps a foldable desk / wardrobe for placing / storing things. But for sure, with this room rate, it is a good deal and I probably should not ask for more😂
