Highly disappointed with this hotel and that Trip.com is even bothered to list them amongst the many hotels!
I had first booked this hotel a month ago. Back then, only their Wifi was down due to some construction work in front of their property. I was told that this would take about 2 to 3 days to fix.
Returning to this same property a month later, it was only when I had arrived at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and when requesting for a transfer service from the airport that I was told by the receptionist that the Wifi was down. I asked her why I wasn't told about this at the time of my booking and that it was very difficult for me to make a booking for another hotel at the last minute! Also, this should have been communicated to me even prior to my coming to Guangzhou. Incidentally, the large room that I had booked came with a projector to watch movies on a wide screen and not having Wifi rendered the room useless.
Another issue was with breakfast where I was told upon seeing the restaurant closed, that they were doing some repairs. Again, I asked the receptionist why they didn't communicate this at the time of my booking about 10 days ago. She didn't say anything but ran off to get a doggy bag consisting of 2 buns, a packet drink, and 2 mini rolls of sausages. Going through this, I asked the receptionist if she would eat it as her breakfast, to which she kept quiet.
I appreciate the receptionist and the driver, who manages the transfers, for doing their best in light of the terrible situation. However, this hotel is totally an unworthy place to consider for any travellers. My intentions were to give this property a total score of zero but I still had some regards for the receptionist and the driver.
On the whole, I hope that travellers would take precaution when booking a hotel such as this and most of all, Trip.com should take swift action against properties such as this well. More so, when such properties are not even bothered to have an email id for communication, which is one of the basic tools of any businesses. Hopefully, this property will be removed from their current listings of hotels!
