Candlewyck Cove Resort

This place is gorgeous. There is only one road in and out which is nice. The pool is beautiful and well kept. They have golf carts available to rent so you can toodle yourself around the property. The king sweet is what we stayed in and it was lovely. Fluffy pillows and lots of towels. Nice and clean. Didn’t have a funky smell like a lot of resorts with pools and hot tubs tend to have. The patio had a nice hot tub area and a propane grill. My bestie and I came to celebrate her birthday and we will be returning to rent one of the house/cabins with our families. It was perfect for a quiet retreat for us but it will be great to bring our kids back too.

The website offers very minimal information, which I have seen others mention as well. Upon arriving and checking in, we did notice that area around the resort was absolutely beautiful. Upon arriving at our room/suite, we were unable to enter it due to being given an incorrect door code, so we had to call and get the proper one. The photos of the room we booked did not match the room we stayed in at all. The room was decent, but not really worth the price. The linens had holes and rips throughout them, and a few of the towels had what appeared to be blood or makeup stains on them. There was a note we found stating that the hot tub had been sanitized and sealed for our protection prior to our arrival, and to use the scissors/snippers provided to cut the seal for the hot tub if we chose to use it. Well, we of course did want to use the hot tub during our stay, so later that evening we went to the hot tub. When we walked over to the hot tub, we immediately noticed it was not sealed at all. The lid came right off. There was no seal of any kind holding the lid down. After removing the lid, we immediately noticed a foul smell coming from the hot tub. The water seemed stagnant, and there were leaves and dirt sitting in the bottom of the hot tub. Aside from the room and the hot tub, it was also extremely difficult to communicate with staff or get any help if you needed it. Their office is closed Monday and Tuesday, so you'll probably have difficulty getting any help on those days as well. The best part of the stay was truthfully just the view of the lake and nature around us, and the wildlife. Aside from those things, we would not recommend booking a stay, nor do we intend on returning.

Wonderful stay at Candylewick Cove for several family members. Excellent facility and promptly helped with any issues, i.e., air conditioning in one unit. Nice pool area and dock area to swim. We will stay there again when we return to Grand Lake.

My family were trying to find a new home for our large family reunion. We stayed 4 days at Candlewyck with a smaller group of family members and were exceedingly please with the resort. We booked our family reunion for next year before we even left.

I recently stayed at this beautiful resort and had an overall fabulous experience. We stayed in Residence 3, Cottonwood, and a hotel room, and each accommodation offered great lakeside access and stunning views. The resort itself is exceptionally well-maintained, with clean swimming pools and delicious breakfast options that we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. The staff truly made our stay remarkable; they were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. While the beds were just okay and we did encounter a minor issue with the air conditioner freezing up, these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise fantastic stay. This resort is a gem, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway.

The website is limited on information. It is not listed on the site who to get ahold of about your reservation. There is very limited parking so if your pulling a boat this definitely is not the place to stay. Spoke with a groundskeeper and was told to call on Wednesday. I did just that and was told there is number posted on door. There is a number on the door but said to call if an emergency. So very very bad all around. Avoid this place if you can. We got another place with plenty of room and on-site help.

It's a great place to stay. Our second time we went. Great staff and accomadations. We stayed in one of the townhouses and our friend stayed in a king suite. They are both very nice. We will go back again.

Candlewyck was awesome again this year! The cabins were clean, the service by the staff was great and everyone was very friendly. We rented a pontoon boat right on the property which was very convenient and not too expensive. Our only disappointment is that we missed the weekend events since we came through the week this year. It was nice to chat with other renters and just have a really family friendly great experience. We will return next year!

This was a Christmas present from our kids last year. My husband and I had a very nice relaxing weekend! The accommodations were wonderful with a great view and the cabin was very comfortable. The hot tub and jetted tub were very nice. We enjoyed our stay. We try to take a family vacation with all of the kids and grandchildren once a year and I think this would be the perfect place!
