Acacia Motel

We stayed here two days ago and noticed the motel was very run down. I was sitting at the desk with my laptop on the wooden desk with glass top. Hubby noticed there was food under the glass. you name it, it was there. Lucky, we carry wipes with us then we looked closer. the room was actually pretty dirty. No hairdryer windows filthy. We pulled back the doona to go to bed. the doona has stains on neither of us could identify with. so, we just used the blanket. The bed was so soft that hubby had to prop himself up to sleep. We spoke to the person in reception the next morning and showed him the room. He didn't seem fazed about our complaints. Asked for a refund for the next night and refused saying that it was less than 24hrs notice. But we wouldn't have known these things without staying there. Asked for a manager to call still no response, I called back to follow up and Spoke to the same person again assured me I would receive phone call from manager. (crickets) UPDATE: We have spoken with the manager who has offered us a refund of the second night's stay. We have received this amount today.

They actually need someone who speaks and understands English on reception as we found it very hard to communicate with them. This is not meant in a discriminative way. Asked for a manager to call still no response, I called back to follow up today. Still refusing to discuss even refunding half the amount stating you have to give 24hrs notice. The motel used to be good years ago and has changed owners and is disgusting. Stay away.

I cannot believe how this motel has gone downhill. Booked weeks ago to get adjoining rooms but our room hadn't been serviced so had to have another room. Our grandson was very upset because no adjoining door. Room smelt terrible, spare bed had stain on cover, bench top was not clean, bathroom was not clean and towels were threadbare. Not even toilet paper on roll. People on both side of our room spent their time sitting outside smoking most of the day so we had to keep our door closed. We will not be back.

Very disappointing after reading so many positive reviews. I had booked an off street kitchenette room. Instead n arrival we were given a street room ( quite ordinary fittings) sleep was impossible- traffic noise all night. Also smokers outside the room had the smell of cigarette smoke wafting into the room- very unpleasant. As there are numerous place to stay in Griffith I would not choose to stay here again.

Something isn't right here. The manager, as nice as he is, smiles as he tells you that the cleaners steal from the rooms. This was first confirmed by one of the cleaners who said other staff steal, so be careful. Yes the rooms are clean but not worth the risk here. The owners are abusive and extremally unprofessional. I would not recommend staying here and supporting what every is going on there.

Very clean and comfortable room. The manager went above and beyond to be helpful. He made us feel very welcome. Good parking (we have a high vehicle) and close to town. Good attention to detail in this mid-range accommodation, good value for money. Would definitely stay their again and highly recommend this property.
