Residence Inn Greenville-Spartanburg Airport

Several days before my stay I received an email from a Residence Inn associate asking if I would consider giving up my room so the hotel could accommodate hurricane relief workers, utility crews and displaced families. The hotel is about 63 miles from Asheville. In writing, Residence Inn promised that any non-refundable reservation (as was mine) would be forgiven. At the time I was happy to assist and surrendered my reservation in a subsequent email. I made a reservation at a lesser hotel. The day after my originally scheduled reservation Marriott charged me as a no show. Incredulous at this lack of detail and professionalism, I phoned the front desk. After some confusion talking to the staff they said they would “”take care of it”. Of course no apology or regret was offered. Four days later I had to call again and straighten this out. I left a message to speak to the GM (Becky). She hasn’t bothered to return my call (I am just a customer). Later that day received a reversal of the charge, but the wrong amount. Had to turn it over to Visa as a dispute.

The location of this hotel is quiet, calm and environment friendly. I stayed in this hotel 4 nights. I stayed here in May 2023. The hotel has spacious reception area with a breakfast area. Staffs were friendly and welcoming. My room was very large and it's a mini suit with all appliances and kitchen amenities including stove. There are swimming pool and fitness center located in this hotel. Comfortable bed with clean linen. I received the room cleaned everyday. Plenty parking area was there. The location is very good, big stores of clothing, food and other items are located within 5-10 minutes walk

A/c in the room not working checked in 7:45 pm they said sold out no other rooms and could not fix it ! Fixed at 10 am room was a 76! Gave 2 lousy fans that did not help the sultriness, manager gave an attitude when I said negligence to check the room!

I unfortunately can not recommend this hotel, especially now. It's old, with dark hallways with old worn carpet and doors with paint chipping. It's not what I've come to expect from a Residence Inn. Yes, they are currently under renovation, so it will be better. But this hotel is an old property. There was no fitness center, they send you to a gym down the road. They were banging on the walls and ceiling at 8:01AM. You can do much better for your money. I hope it improves when the renovations are done.

This hotel is one of the best I have been too, as far as business hotels go! Water is hot, great water pressure, beds are comfy (always are with Marriott though) the area is safe, and staff is incredibly nice. I travel often and stay in a lot of these types of hotels, and this is by far the best even for residence inn’s. Coffee is always ready by 5am, and the suites are spacious with full refrigerators. I like luxury when traveling for personal stays, but I may try another one of these when I travel with family, it is truly a great hotel!

We got an updated room, which is much nicer than the pictures on the website show. It was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Summer is friendly, attentive, and does an excellent job of keeping the breakfast station running. Michael and Jasmine at the front desk were very kind and helpful. We highly recommend this Residence Inn.
