"First impressions were really bad. Faded sign, rubbish blowing around the car park, rotting fascias, rotten window frames on restaurant, filthy carpets in corridors. The room was clean but smelt of feet. Facilities looked very battered... The restaurant for breakfast was grim. Dirty, sticky floor and tables littered with food. The cooked breakfast was not unlimited but made to order. Waited twenty minutes for a member of staff to take our order. Went to make some toast whilst we waited- no brown bread, no pancakes, no butter, no fruit, no apple juice, no butter, no muffins. Asked staff to replenish items but only a few things were refilled. One carton of apple juice put out in the jug. It was soon gone. Cereal bowls were dirty. We did not get value for money. Positives - staff were polite. Room was clean but this did not make up for a huge lack of investment in this hotel. Wouldn't stay here again."
