The Kensington

We arrived at the Hotel around 2:30, on the outside, it looked very pleasant. We checked in and we're shown to our room. Unfortunately the room had black mould on it, the bathroom light didn't work and the carpet was dirty, I went to reception and asked the receptionist to come and have a look, she agreed that it was not suitable, we waited for half an hour before she had found another room. The next was on the first floor, access to the room was very narrow, once inside I was happy that this room didn't have mould. After a closer inspection, I found that the bath was filthy and had dirty and paint in it, the towel rail collapsed after putting a towel on it. The double bed consists of two singles put together (any chance of a romantic night went out of the window). The only good thing I can say about this place was the breakfast. If you don't mind a filthy place to stay , then this is for you, I personally wouldn't recommend it and won't be returning. The room service was non existent.

Slept like a baby, Breakfast was great and the ladies staff are awesome, off street parking was a plus, few meters to the beach. The shops were mostly closed at this time of the year, health walks are a must as the beach length is endless. I will be back.

We came to this hotel years ago so I booked to go here again but this time I came with my grown up teenage children, we had three rooms altogether, we chose room 12 as it was on 1st floor and we have got back problems so didn’t want to go to the top floor. It is at the back of the hotel and down a very narrow corridor, the carpets needed a good wash and hoover!!!! The cleaners must have forgotten it was there it was awful, we have never stayed in a room like it, the toilet was disgusting with left over hairs and other things on it, there was damp and mould on the windows and they were rotten, the toilet roll holder was falling apart and the shower holder was as well, the bed was falling apart and it wasn’t safe to sleep on, there were marks on every wall, the kettle was gross I refused to use it, the arm behind the tv had thick dust on it to name just a few things. At breakfast the table mats stuck to the tables, the tables were dirty with old food on them. the waitress forgot our coffees and the butter for our toast so it went cold, at the bar they only had two draught beers out of 5. I complained to the staff and asked to speak to the manager on the day of arrival, no manager on site just on a young girl, she messaged them but they wouldn’t come to the hotel, they told her to clean our room and sort it out as there wasn’t anywhere for us to move to. I spoke to a Manager the following day, he moved us to room 21 on the top floor which we didn’t really want but had no choice as room 12 was awful but no money back or apology was given. Won’t be coming her again and it ruined our time away to our happy place.

Not good. First room offered smelt terribly of cigarettes so asked to move. Next room no light in bathroom and no heating. Given an electric heater that blew the lights tv and kettle. Won’t be coming back here anytime soon. Staff were nice to you till you turned round and then spoke about you between themselves. Signs about food times were inaccurate and if you asked to eat according to the signs staff very abruptly said too late my shift ends soon and I’m not staying. Rubbish and the 4 star with awards they tell you must have been written by themselves.

On arrival told the heating was only on at certain times. The food from the restaurant was almost inedible, either burnt or cold. No telephone in the room should there be a problem. There wasn’t the warmth of greeting as was there a couple of years ago. Won’t be going again.

This hotel does not deserve a star rating, & I believe that it doesn't have one. Broken & damaged furniture & cast-offs. Threadbare carpets, & showers that do not work properly. The bed was clean & in good order, & everything else was a disaster waiting to happen. The food service & cleanliness were a one minus. There is nothing more that I can say about this dive.
