Would like to give this hotel 5 stars but I won't. Let's get to it. Pros - Rooms are decent. Breakfast was hot and a nice variety of hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, coffee, bagels, donuts, and cereal. The lady at the breakfast area was the nicest staff we encountered. Saying hello is simple but unfortunately, the front desk staff wasn't so nice or helpful. Cons - Our toilet didn't flush properly after one flush and I had to open the lid and press on one of the tubes for it to work, and we were told it would be fixed, but it wasn't. Only here for 2 days so we managed. Avoid using the shuttle - we requested a shuttle to downtown Grapevine for 5pm then changed it to 6pm and was told after that shuttles don't pick you up on the weekends and we were not told that earlier....plus we waited 40 minutes then the guy showed up, said he was delayed with a maintenance issue. What the hell? We almost missed our show and just decided to drive ourselves. No apologies were given, just felt like 'oh well'. NOT GOOD. Just take the shuttle service off the website because it sucks. Front desk may need customer service 101. When guests who pay good money check-in, it could help to smile and appear interested. 2 at the front desk checked us in but the 'manager' didn't appear friendly at all. Then later we were in lobby and heard the 'manager' talking loudly on her phone and cursing. Really? Yep. Guess she didn't know we were standing there or maybe she didn't care. Felt bad for the new guy who was 'in training'. Don't be like her. Unbelievable that people can get these customer service jobs and don't care about the customer. Don't go to the restaurant in the hotel after 9pm. We went at 915pm and were starving and they had shut down the kitchen but kept the bar open. Really? Can you put up a sign so we won't waste time. I don't want a drink, I want a meal. Again, the hotel is nice and near lots of restaurants and shopping, but it's the little things like basic customer service that mean a lot to people who work hard and pay money for crappy service. Get a clue and get a grip because I won't be back. Will take my hard-earned money elsewhere.
