Quinta Dos Machados Countryside Hotel & Spa

Wow! What a gem. Such peace and tranquillity and great hospitality. The staff was super kind. They welcomed us and our little dog with so much joy. Would absolutely recommend staying here! We will be recommending this place to friends and family for sure.

Lovely venue. Went for a wedding and was picture perfect. Owner and manager and her daughter were lovely and very welcoming. Had a few incidents and they were immediately rectified. PS. Monica....Your dad was correct....Its a boy!

We came for my son's wedding, held at a sister property. Quinta Casa dos Reguengos. The location was beautiful and the service impeccable. The staff should open a hospitality school because they were so over and above all our expectations. The restaurant was also cozy and the food and service delicious. We can't wait to return.

Stayed at this country- side hotel for 2 nights. 1 Good value 2 Up- graded us to rooms with a balcony nearer the breakfast area 3 Staff were very helpful. A special thank you to a young man who served our group, spoke good English… We know as he told us he got 19/20 in an English test! This gentleman was attentive and always had a smile. Thank you! 4 Two lunches and breakfast were good! Generous portions, tasty and beautiful presentation! Breakfast was good but it would have been better if we hadn’t had to ask for more fruit, cheese or scrambled eggs to be laid out. 5 Pool area pleasant and if you ask at reception, you can get towels. 6 Beds small but very comfortable 7 Towels, sheets, pillows all seemed new, white and fresh. All bathroom products were lovely too. 8 Setting in a wooded area was very pretty! But The bedrooms in this relatively new block were small! Very small! So much so I got dressed and used the small bathroom and then my husband did. No walking around space, very little available in terms of storage space- no draws to place clothes in , no hangers for the little wardrobe, no shelves to place toiletries, very frustrating! Finally, this is a wedding venue where guests are dressing for a special occasion. We need a full length mirror in the bedroom, a mirror in the bedroom to enable people to put their makeup on . The bathroom was dark: better lighting and once again another mirror for shaving, make up for close up work. I have been on cruises and this hotel needs to look at how designers maximise storage space in the minimum of space. Thank goodness there was air conditioning though! Overall good value stay . But I wouldn’t like to stay more than one to two nights.

I cannot fault the Quinta dos Machados at all. We had the most incredible stay and it exceeded our expectations. The food in the restaurant was incredible, we were B&B but paid for multiple lunches and dinners throughout our stay and all were incredible and very reasonably priced we were very surprised. The chef was amazing! We attended for a family wedding at a local villa BUT we had a large family party at the Machados and the food was incredible both for a huge group (over 40) and when dining as a small group (2-5). Anna & Marcus in the restaurant are an absolute credit to the Machados and were the most helpful, kind and professional team members. Always engaging with us and the kids and we’re helpful with choosing things on the menu and translating where requires. I also used the spa facilities and cannot recommend Eduarda the masseuse enough! She was incredible - one of the best massages I have had. She was very kind and just had a beautiful energy about her. All in all, you can tell we really enjoyed it and had a great stay. If I really had to pick at anything, the pool was freezing but that’s no one’s fault and very much time of year we went so that’s fine and we still went in for swimming regardless as the pool was lovely (just cold) and I would love to see more choice of eggs for breakfast. They offered scrambled eggs which were always cooked well but maybe also having hard boiled or fried eggs as options too would be great - but the breakfast spread as a whole was fab! Everywhere is constantly cleaned and all the staff were friendly and kind. I also found it very accessible as I had a stroller and was able to access everywhere with no trouble and they had a lift which was surprising for a small hotel that hasn’t actually got many floors (just 2 - ground and first) We loved it so much we are considering an exclusive hire for a large family event next year. Paguei por um quarto que não tive. Nas fotos mostram um quarto com banheira e janela para árvores. Que foi a única razão pela qual reservei quarto neste hotel. Quando chego ao hotel o que me deram foi um quarto com base de duche. Imediatamente reclamei e deram me um quarto com banheira mas o quarto mais pequeno onde estive e ao nível do chão. Ou seja, não foi possível tomar banho na banheira com janela aberta. Além do mais a janela dava para onde um carrinho de golfe do staff estava estacionado e constantemente a ser usado. Quando fiz o check out e as senhoras das limpezas estavam a limpar os quartos vi os quartos pelo qual paguei e fiquei extremamente desiludida pois o quarto que paguei existia mas não me foi dado por algum motivo. Se eles tem quartos de qualidade completamente diferentes tem que cobrar a diferença e mostrar fotos e descrição do quarto. Nunca me senti tão enganada num hotel, sinceramente estragaram-me o fim de semana. O quarto além de ser pequeno tinha acabamentos péssimos na casa de banho e parede do quarto. Dos piores quartos onde já fiquei. Pedi para falar com o supervisor/a e disseram que não estava no hotel
