Nice chilled hotel, but they need some fans in the main bar / dining area as there is just no air and it gets unbearable when it's hot. The service was great really friendly staff had to ask a few times for signs to be put out for food so we knew what we were eating but they sorted it out in the end. The food was fine not hot enough at times but I never had a problem with getting something to eat. As all inclusive need some entertainment as you expect and as you get everywhere else. You have to go out to get it and even then there's 1 bar Melodies that offer it but that's only twice a week Elvis who was fab and Michael Jackson who was very poor. It gets really boring. The rooms are adequate, overall great hotel just needs a few tweaks and it would be perfect. Big shout out to Spiros and Nico the barmen they are truly wonderful thanks so much you are stars and a credit to the hotel. We would go back again just need entertainment.

This used to be a simple bed and breakfast hotel. It's now all inclusive.... but only certain drinks. It was as before clean and adequate, sadly not impressed with all inclusive totally different atmosphere ok if you looking for lots of free beers and Ouzo

The hotel was clean but basic. I travelled with my grandaughter 19 years old. The food was adequate you wouldn't starve. The only downside was no toaster it was a sandwich maker that left the bread hard. But it sufficed. The staff was friendly and helpful apart for the barman on the reception bar. We waited ten minutes for him to put his phone down and finish his conversation, he just looked at us and carried on. We asked for non alcoholic cocktails and was told they are not allowed on all inclusive wristbands!. We found an amazing bar down the road called melodies as no entertainment in the hotel. Melodies had elvis, Michael Jackson impersonators and karaoke. Also a very reasonably priced little shop just 10mtrs from hotel run by a young English guy who was very helpful. Back to the hotel I would recommend it as it's early days and I would go back. I do hope that they will be more transparent with what all inclusive includes with leaflets or something in the room together with meal times.

We have just got home from Gouvia we stayed in this lovely Hotel , are stay here was lovely , the room was nice and comfy , the staff were fantastic , its the sort of place you can relax in , everyone was so helpful nothing was too much trouble , the Breakfast was always good , we want for anything , i had an eye problem while i was there , and a lovely lady helped me alot , she asked me everyday how it was , a big thank you to her for everything , the Hotel is central too where ever you need to go too ,then at the end of the day it was nice to sit and chat and have a drink at the bar , thank you too everyone at the Popi Star , we will being staying with you again

As usual I would say do your homework before booking anywhere and that this is our experience only. This is a very pleasant 2 star hotel and we had a very nice stay. The public areas are clean and walls are well painted, everything was in good order. The breakfast area was fine (you could take breakfast out into the covered bar area) and the choice for breakfast was certainly enough. Sliced bread, fresh bread for cutting, toasting machine, jams, etc. A few things in the hot tray always included boiled eggs and mini croissants, also other cold items; we generally found something to eat and had no complaints. The roofed bar/seating area at the front of the hotel was pleasant and the pool/lounge area at the back and side of the hotel was fine and clean. The pool bar was reasonably priced and the pool itself was squarish with a 2.5 metre deep end, not too cold once in for a bit. Our rooms were very pleasant, clean and spacious enough (see pics) with a nice balcony. The safe was too small for our iPads but enough for passports, wallets and the like. The fridge worked but opened out at the end of the bed and was awkward to use, we found full size water bottles too tall for the main body which did not have shelves. We had a problem with a toilet seat which cracked in use as not centred properly but we told them and it was promptly replaced by a brand new one in a short time, extra pillows provided also in short time; very happy with the response. We booked with TUI and so automatically had free air conditioning BUT I would double check re cost if you are booking via a different site. The staff were all very nice and friendly and we had no issues as they were not at all rude to us (young lad on reception was particularly smiling and helpful, a credit to the place). Saying hello with a smile and a bit of chat works wonders as usual, good morning to the cleaning ladies and to reception and to the lads on breakfast who always smiled and said good morning, etc. A stony-face or scowl seemed to be the setting for some guests but this is not us. All in all we had a very nice stay.
