Ashdown Park Hotel

One of the most disappointing hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Check in was delightful the receptionist was covering a break but was lovely. Room was clean & tidy. Went to the bar failed to get served after 20 minutes waiting, wasn’t the only one either and the bar was not busy. Went for a shower and came back for dinner. I should’ve just gone into town took 15 minutes to get attention to be seated then let’s just say service was sparse. Witnessed two tables depart after a waiting period should’ve gone too. Bread rolls were hard as rocks, soup tepid warm Main course poor and dessert nice. Coffee took 25 minutes to arrive worst €80 ever spent on a restaurant. Retired next morning discovered no toiletries filled and a dirty towel. Checked out advised reception even though I had breakfast paid for I was charged €3.60 for a flat white. Accommodation cost €195. Total rip-off and asked for a manager to call me well this review wouldn’t be here had one even bothered to. €280 I’ve never enjoyed or will see me back.

Just back from an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel , place ut spotless and the decor is so beautiful , All the staff were so helpful and friendly especially Donna on reception, We had a lovely meal with excellent service , all the outdoor seating areas are so well kept n maintained, we also had a spa treatment this was such an enjoyable experience the girls Robyn n Nichola could not do enough to make us feel so relaxed n pampered , again the decor here has such a tranquil feeling from the minute you walk in and again the place is spotless , I definitely cannot wait to return and i have told all my friends n family about the fantastic experience we had here Regards Jennifer

When we arrived and went to our room we had a very nice large toom. However there were 2 used bath robs left in the wardrobe and they were advised and replaced them. The following night it was my wife’s birthday and we had already 3 course meal with the package we booked the ivy bar and advised that my wife as Ceolic When we ordered our starter my wife advised the server that she was ceolic and. Also to make sure there was no ground pepper on the mains . I had ordered a chicken burger and chips When the started for my wife came out. It had sough dough bread which was not gluten free and was brought back They came back with the re fired mussels and half of them were not opened so not cooked. Manager was told . The main course for my wife came out looked nice however the burger was laced with pepper and also sent back. The manager came out and had advised that the burger was brought in and had already been seasoned with salt and pepper., My wife then had had fish with potatoes and veg . Veg was not particularly nice but the fish was lovely. The mashed potatoes was very very salty My main meal came out and was looking forward to the chicken burger as chicken is my favourite , this was very disappointing as the chicken burger was to have a milk batter this was half missing and very soggy bun I did only eat half of it. This was a very disappointing meal as it was my wife’s birthday .
