Domaine de l'Enclos

Beautiful location, and great home base to explore the region for a few days. We were very happy with the lovely and comfortable room, great breakfast and helpful tips from Yannick. Truly a lovely spot and highly recommend. We were here in the off season so unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy the pool but would be gorgeous during the warm months!

My wife and I had a wonderful week in the tower ("Tour") suite with a spectacular view of the Luberon Valley and the town of Gordes from the private terrace. The property is located in a very quiet area, making it feel like you're in the countryside, yet only a scenic 10-minute walk into Gordes center. The building has been artfully restored in a country manor style with loads of charm and ambience. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and well kept; the large pool was great after a day of visiting small hill towns. The living room was beautifully and artfully decorated, very cozy; the indoor eating area and kitchen were sparkling clean with a brand new kitchen. You could cook your own dinner here, and also store your wine in the fridge. Our room was spatious and comfortable; especially 2 separated sinks in the bathroom; beds were comfortable. The room itself was modern and a bit plain in decor, but fine. The staff was super warm and friendly, and all spoke fluent English. They went out of their way to help us with daily itineraries, and they made our dinner reservations for us, even a month before we arrived. The owner Jean-Luc was so kind to us; he has traveled in the US so we had some nice chats about our respective cultures and countries as well as what it's like to live in Gordes. He even helped me get medical care when I accidently had a fall. We had many fun and interesting conversations with all the staff. Breakfasts were good (although a bit lacking in offerings): fresh croissants, jams, fresh fruits, juices and cereals. We enjoyed eating at a lawn table overlooking the Luberon; the lawn area is surrounded with beautiful flowering shrubs, flowers, and lavender. I even got a hands-on lesson in how to properly cook scrambled eggs which were so much more tasty than the agribusiness eggs we get in U.S. supermarkets. If you want a no-issues place with a fabulous view, top notch service, peace and quiet, and one that you can count on everything being just right, this is "le place perfect". A perfect spot to rest — calm and elegant, even in the middle of a summer mayhem. The rooms are spacious and cool, the garden & swimming area offer lots of privacy. I love that there were only four or five other families in the hotel. The owner and all the staff members are exceptionally kind and welcoming. Excellent champagne in the bar.

We stayed for five nights and wished it could have been longer. Lovely property, great setting and location and Jean-Luc, Cathy and Yannick were so friendly and helpful. Jean-Luc advised on restaurants for four of the five evenings and we enjoyed each one. Our single attempt at choosing one, although not a disaster, left a huge amount to be desired. Breakfast was great - perhaps the addition of a little fresh fruit would have been nice - and the facilities were fine, great pool and gardens with stuff inside the house to keep one entertained. We liked very much that there are no TV's not because we dislike them but they seemed so unnecessary. This is a great place to stay and should we ever venture to these parts again we will most certainly consider staying here again. My family (2 adults, 3 kids - 5, 5, and 7) just had the most magical 3 days at Domaine de L'Enclos and we couldn't be more grateful for Jean-Luc, Yannick, Cathy and the team for their exquisite hospitality. When I was planning our trip to Provence I was hoping to find a boutique style B&B that offered close access to a traditional Provençal village and Domaine de L'Enclos was truly everything I had dreamed about and more. The pool was heavenly on hot afternoons and a perfect respite for the kids after busy days of adventures (accrobranche, kayak on the sorgue, lavender museum); breakfast was lovely (eggs as you like, fresh pastries, cheese/meats, coffee pots (french press, espresso), juices, etc.) and the rooms and home were extremely well appointed with high end linens and tasteful and well designed furniture. We stayed in the rooms Tour (best views of Gordes!) and Muriel (fantastic private patio with close access to the pool and grounds). Jean-Luc provided wonderful restaurant recommendations that we enjoyed each evening via the most pleasant 5-10 minute walk down a little path to the village of Gordes - the views were truly magical and we slept so wonderfully with the scent of lavender all around! I wish we could have stayed longer - and hope to return again someday! Everything was really better than the photos.

This is a lovely, quiet place...a great way to experience Provence. But the REAL distinguishing factor is the charming concierge, Cathy. She tracked us down to give us our check in info. She knew - and charmed - our taxi driver to help change our schedule. (Note Provence is swamped - taxis are difficult to book). She even offered us a ride. She made ever minute of our stay magic! It's an easy walk into Gordes - our best meal was a picnic on our charming veranda...goat cheese, tomatoes and perfectly ripe Cavaillon melons. Breakfast is great, too. Cathy made us POTS of coffee!
