"We took advantage of the buyout option to have the whole lodge available for our multigenerational family trip including three children under the age of 10. Everything was excellent. The accommodations included some nice touches such as an outdoor shower and morning coffee / tea delivered to your suite. The meal quality, variety and freshness were all top notch and the staff were very mindful of our food allergies and preferences. There was a good variety of tours to choose from and our naturalist guide, Josue, was outstanding."

"This was one of our favourite hotels on the tour. The lodge is right on the edge of the rainforest. The rooms are comfortable - although we had 3 single beds instead of a double. The fan and mesh windows helped keep the room cool. Due to the high humidity all our clothing felt damp. The food was delicious and service excellent. The pool was a good size and great to use to cool off. The grounds are beautiful and well kept with lots of flowers and wildlife. Would definitely recommend people stay here for a couple of nights."

It also seized the salary of an environmental activist fighting for the protection of mangroves, the flora and fauna that this consortium is trying to destroy. If you care about gentrification and the environment, DO NOT STAY HERE or at any other hotel or business owned by the consortium (Mangrove Hotel, Punta Islita, Villa Lapas, Amaka Ocean Living, Fiesta Resort, Marina Bahía Golfito). Español: El consorcio que es dueño de este hotel esta destruyendo el medio ambiente y la zona costera de Costa Rica. Ademas le hizo un embargo del salario a un activista ambiental que estaba peleando por la protección de los manglares, la flora y fauna que esté consorcio está tratando de destruir. "We stayed at Cielo before our liveaboard trip to Cocos Island that left from Golfito. It was a great choice. Everything about this lodge was perfect. The facility is well designed, the pool and pool area has a view over the bay and faces the cooling breezes from the sea. Very relaxing for hanging out. Our suite was large and set in a private spot in the forest which has lots of bird life, monkeys and other forest creatures. The chef was fantastic, every meal was an event. And the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We did the waterfall tour, the boat tour and bird walk, all recommended. Though close to Golfito, it is high above it on a the ridge where you feel as if you are in your own world at Cielo lodge."

"Stayed here for two nights as part of our Exodus Discover Costa Rica tour. Excellent location. No glass in the windows, only mesh so you could hear the wildlife all night, which was brilliant (luckily none came into the room!) Safe provided. Also ceiling fan. Basic clean and comfortable accommodation. All meals were provided, but we found portion sizes small. They pride themselves on no waste! Lovely swimming pool. Night time walks are offered with the use of wellies provided by the hotel. A stunning isolated location in the rain forest."
