The Pipers' Tryst Hotel

We came back to the hotel at 9:55pm, staff that booked us in during the day were leaving. We went to the bar, but it was closed. We couldn't find out how to order anything from room service. Because, there's no room service!!!!!!! Considering rhe great welcome and complimentary drink on arrival, this is beyond disappointing!

Hotel is very well located and is within easy walking distance of city centre and train/bus stations. Room was comfortable and basic but represented very good value. Complimentary whisky on arrival is a very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent.

This is a cosy hotel with a warm and welcoming bar and dining room. The staff were similarly warm and friendly. Scottish heritage imbued into everything without being OTT touristy. Breakfast was lovely too, with a great selection of warm options and some continental extras too. I loved my stay and will choose to stay here again next time I'm back in Glasgow to work.

One of my favourites. Stayed many times. They are painting the stairway….. and room 5 was in need of some paint as well. I am being fussy, but the breakfast not 100%. The bacon was streaky and fatty as was the Lorna and I recall lovely quality sausage and bacon before….maybe I am dreaming. Still love this place ….

On arrival I received a friendly greeting and a tot of single malt. A great start !! I went to my room to find that both the radiator and towel rail were turned off. Bearing in mind the temperature was -2 outside it took a while to warm up the room so I poured a bath. Well, the hot tap was a trickle so it took a while to fill it. I was given the first floor room on the front so noisy revellers immediately below were disturbing. Why do hotels that aren't busy put all their guests in adjacent rooms. Great for the cleaners but noisy for their guests. The room was well designed with a tartan theme and the bed was very comfortable. The bed side tables had been poorly covered with fablon ; presumably to cover previous damage. The breakfast was lovely with everything you might imagine and served with a smile and endless coffees.

Although the staff were very nice and service for Dinner and Breakfast good the bedrooms in the hotel leave a lot to be desired. Room 1. was small the walls were filthy there was holes in the blind and the bedside light shade. Door to room left a lot of light in. Kettle was very old.. The price for room was not in keeping of room facilities. Expensive drinks menu. £9 for glass of cheap wine is ridiculous. Badly needs refurbishment.
