I was told there would be no one working the front desk when I arrived, and that the the room would be ready and unlocked waiting for me. After getting into the hotel using their secure number pad, I discovered that the bedroom I had been assigned was locked. I tried opening the door several times, but could not get in. I tried contacting the hotel staff via phone and messaging app, with no response. Other things: - There were quite a few people hanging around the lobby even late at night. Literally any of them could have access to the room if it was unlocked. - I found another person in the lobby who was having the same problem I did. I ended up having to walk around in the middle of the night to find another hotel. When I contacted Hotel St. Gervais the next day, I was told that the whole thing was my fault for "not following the instructions". Hotel St. Gervais counted me as a no show and refused to refund me for the stay. Bottom Line: Terrible check-in process - totally unstaffed and unsecure. No accountability. Poor customer service.
