Hotel Seppl

This is a nice hotel but be very guarded in the description that they give the individual bedrooms particularly if you book 'Edelweiss Suite' because they have a number of rooms that they assign the name 'Edelweiss' to. We booked a four night stay in the above suite based on the photographs shown on their website ie overlooking the mountains. When we arrived, we were allocated a suite at the rear of the hotel and above reception and whilst it was a nice big suite, it was on the opposite side to the spectacular mountain views; to be fair you could get a view of the mountains but not at all as spectacular as described. On arrival our room was not prepared, it had no towels or gowns which I had to obtain from the one member of staff that was on duty covering the bar and reception and I did say that the room was not what we had booked but was told to take it up with reception the following morning. I complained direct to my travel agent and the following morning the hotel did offer two alternative rooms to the front of the hotel with the views and they were nice but not the suite we had booked so they were smaller. As it turned out we found that our room had been allocated to someone else and I believe the room to the front is 101 and they were very happy having received a warm welcome from the hotel who had put balloons etc in the room as they were celebrating an occasion. This made it worse for us because we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary and the hotel had been made well aware of this months in advance...we received nothing by way of acknowledgement and it was never mentioned. During our stay room service did not turn up on one of the days and unfortunately I had to complain when our evening meal was served cold but nothing was done about it because of the apparent language barrier. Having stayed in hotels around the world, I would describe this hotel as more of a three star and a very expensive one at that. I have made a formal complaint to our tour operator and no doubt the hotel will respond defensively but I stand my ground because the room we had simply did not have the views shown for 'Edleweiss Suite'

We stayed here for three nights. The best part of this hotel is the service. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered the hotel. Our special thanks are for Irina and Maria. All our questions about the local attractions, activities, etc. were answered and accompanied with very helpful suggestions. During our stay we celebrated our XXth anniversary. Maria took the initiative to turn this even into a real celebration starting with decorations of our breakfast table, and doing other pleasant things for us. It was a great treat that our memories will capture for years to come. The place had great amenities. The view from our Edelweiss suite was spectacular. We drove a car to Innsbruck the first day, and took a tram the next day. The driving time was 15 min, the tram ride took 40 min one way. Great location. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and pleasant.

We booked the motel as it was advertised as a 4 star bike motel. Their website looked amazing. We paid for a mountain bike package that included local mtn bike information, cycle clothing washing, 3hr cycling guide, an on-mountain speck & cheese platter. On arrival the weekend staff were unaware of the package and we were asked to clarify with the weekday manager. He was not engaging at all and was unable to provide any advertised inclusions apart from the 3hr guide. The guide however ( outsourced company ) was excellent. The bikes advertised were not what we expected, the bike shed was disorganised, hire bikes were dirty and bike pumps were broken! The house staff were very attentive and friendly. Views were stunning. Overall, this is not a 4 star bike hotel. We were disappointed.

Where do I start with reviewing Hotel Seppl?? Yes, the hotel was gorgeous, the food was fantastic and the pool was stunning, but it's the staff who made this hotel. During our stay we got engaged and my partner asked at the reception if there was any way he could arrange a surprise for me in the room to celebrate. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like the only couple they had in the hotel. The cleaning team were amazing and put together a display in our room (see photos) and the bar/restaurant staff were so incredible! Thank you so much to Damos (Yamas!), Marina, the chefs and the cleaning team (apologies, I couldn't get all your names!) and a special mention goes to Rosa who, genuinely, is a kindred spirit and such an amazing person. My understanding is that the staff are on rotation around Innsbruck and honestly, Hotel Seppl will not be the same without this amazing team! Thank you all so much for making our holiday and engagement one we will never forget.

Definitely does not deserve 4 stars. Besides the very friendly staff, everything was disappointing. Our room had a balcony overlooking the parking instead of the nice view advertised. No curtain in the bathroom, dirty bathrobes, instructions for a non existing safe, glasses on the table but no drinks, no "resupply" at breakfast. Poor value for money !
