The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Navarino

We celebrated our wedding at the Romanos in September and it was just amazing! The resort is fantastic and very family friendly with great pools and facilities. There is a great variety of restaurants our favourites being Flame, Kooc, Da Luigi’s and Barbouni. We also tried Oliviera at the Mandarin Oriental which is 10mins drive away and that was also fabulous. We had our wedding ceremony on the beach which was a beautiful set up. What sets the Romanos apart is the staff. Everyone we met were extremely friendly and professional. As we stayed in a suite (which I would highly recommend for a family with 2 separate rooms) we had a butler Tassos looking after us. Tassos is just amazing! Such a lovely person and excellent customer service - above and beyond what I have seen before. Tassos played a huge part in making sure our wedding day and whole trip was perfect. Virginia who was our wedding coordinator was also great and really helpful. I had a few treatments at the spa which is fantastic and Stella at the hair salon did a wonderful job also! The kids club staff are excellent too. I would not hesitate to recommend the Romanos for a 5 star family holiday! We will be back soon!

On the up side: Personnel was great, they bend over backwards to please you. The chef in one of the restaurants even made us a special chocolate cake (because I asked for some chocolate desert, and it wasn't on the menu) and they offered it to us free of charge. Pretty good choice of dishes in the morning. The lounge on the 3rd floor was perfect for a quiet evening listening to sax and trumpet music, away from the hustle and bustle of the Agora, which has two great Greek restaurants, Souvlakerie and Kook. I can not say anything about the other restaurants, because being in Greece, we ate Greek, or the pools, because being at the seaside we use the sea. The beach might have been ok, but we went to Voidokilia, Crissi Ammos and other natural beaches so we didn’t use their beach either. On the down side: They called me the day before the check in and said they would like us to be there after 3PM, which was their normal check in time, because they have a lot of check outs. We got there at 3:40PM, and yet we had to wait for our room until 5PM. They did offer us complimentary drinks on one of the pool bars, but my main concern was that I had to do some work at 5PM, and I was running out of time. The day before we left I found no parking spot on the smaller parking lot, so I tried to park the car (a rented Skoda Octavia) in one of the spots in the parking outside the reception. This valet comes up to me and says I can't park there, because that parking lot is only for pick ups and drop offs, and I have to move the car to the main parking lot, a few hundred meters away. I don't argue with rules but what about these 2 SUVs that were parked in the first 2 spots closest to the reception entrance. One, The Range Rover, had Italian plates, the other, the BMW M6, Romanian. They were already there when we got to the parking lot, and a few hours later 2 more luxury cars showed up there. The cars were still there at 11PM, so this was no pick up/drop off job. Initially I thought they were vehicles belonging to the hotel, but I saw the plates and they were definitely private. I just can't figure out the basis on which they discriminate. Could it be the make of the car might spoil the "luxury" image they want to project? One other thing: On our last evening I got a call from the front office/reception and was asked if I needed help with my bags. I told the man that I already made arrangements at the reception for our bags to be picked up from our room and taken to the main parking lot where our car was, at noon tomorrow. Then he said that the usual check out is 11 and he would appreciate if we were ready by then. The next day, like 15 minutes to 11, the front office calls again to see that we will get out by 11. This is not the way to go about in a Marriott outfit. I know there were many check ins, but we were checked in at 5PM, and if check out is 11, do they need 6 hours to clean the room?

Would I stay again? 1000xYES! What an amazing 4 days at Costa Navarino Romanos! An amazing beach, beautiful sunsets, wonderful pool, tasty restaurants, great activities and more! We did it all - swim, Lebanese food, souvlaki, pool, golf, astronomy (star gazing), and spa services! We couldn’t be more satisfied… What made our visit and time at the Romanos? The people! Friendly, engaging, kind, always looking to see how they can make your stay better or help you with a need or want. A few special people that deserve a major shout out! 1) Christos Panairlis - the pool bar manager. The entire pool and bar team was THE BEST! They truly knew hospitality, kindness and how to provide service with a smile and friendly manner. This comes from their leader (the top) and Christos is a great leader motivating his team. Special shout out to Nikola, Georgio, Dimitri and Vasiliki (the lobby bar). This team made us laugh, told us about their story (how they got here) and showed kindness and assistance to all. 2) Mirena - beach attendant. What I witnessed was more than kindness… it was a respect and love of your fellow human being. Mirena in addition to helping us with a smile, she quickly noticed an elderly couple and arranged to help them to their beach chairs, facilities and surrounding transportation. It was all done with a big smile, eagerness to please. Mirena - you are a wonderful person and I am so lucky to have met and gotten to know you! Our family unanimously said this! 3) Our Suite attendant - (I think it was Effie? - we were in suite 3418 check out 12-7-2024. Respectful, always smiling and made sure we had enough towels and supplies. Seeing her smile and joy was infectious and is the way we should all start our mornings! Εφχαριστο! I repeat… I would (and plan to) come again 1000x YES! Our last meal was at the Souvlakerie and it was perfect!!!! Harry Papaconstantinou

We enjoyed every minute of our one week stay. The rooms and the infinity pool are making you feel living dream holidays. Every staff member is smiling, gives special attention, attitude is exactly as it should be : attentive and warm while also being discreet. No waiting time. Very professional. Big thanks to the Front Office Manager and team, to all restaurant staff and housekeeping, and to Elise at Guest Relations which did an outstanding job with all guests. Impressive. The resort is big with many pools and restaurants but always feels luxury, not crowded, enough available place everywhere. The site has been preserved and is beautiful. The restaurants are all amazing with real good food and nice choices. The Japanese was excellent as well as Flame, Nargile, and Barbouni which we enjoyed every day. We also thought the experience at the Anax Lounge with the Olive Oil Martini and the piano overlooking the sunset was magic. Thank you to all for making our stay a memorable one. We can't wait to come back !
