Hotel Savoy Palace

A beautiful hotel with exceptional customer service from all the staff. Hotel overlooking the lake, only 60 rooms. Clientele are in the older age bracket which was great for us. Food on the whole good, especially breakfast. Art Deco style, classic. Very clean, would not hesitate to visit again.

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. From the first night, when due to our late arrival we were allowed to use the restaurant before booking in, to the next morning when we asked to change rooms because of early morning traffic disturbing my light sleeping wife's sleep, to every member of staff we met being polite, approachable and professional, we both loved everything about the Hotel Savoy. Although the drive from Verona isn't short, staying in Gardone means that access to either the north, south or east of the lake is equally easy by bus or boat.

Couldn't fault the hotel. We stayed for a couple of nights and found the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. There was a good selection at breakfast and, om a minor point, unlike some hotels they brought tea and coffee to you! :) The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and in an excellent location.

This hotel is really special. It combines a beautiful setting with efficient friendly staff, who are always willing to help you and ensure your holiday is enjoyable. We have stayed twice now and both times we have been so well looked after. The rooms are traditionally Italian and have a luxurious feel. Bedding is soft and comfortable and the room is cleaned to a very high standard each day. The view from our rooms both times was breathtaking and the food is amazing. We really should try other holiday destinations, but when you find a gem like the Savoy Palace, it's hard to look elsewhere. I've no doubt we'll be back.

Just back from.a very relaxing stay in this hotel. The staff are all lovely, very helpful and so attentive. We had a room on the fifth floor with a fabulous view right across the lake. We had a juliet balcony but we just opened the french doors wide and sat in the chairs and enjoyed the view. Although they doesn't appear to be many sunbeds it's not an issue as most guests are out sightseeing during their stay. Meals are served on the terrace overlooking the pool and lake. The breakfast is a buffet but the evening meal is 3 courses with a choice of 3 for each course. We loved the food but don't expect traditional English food. There's lots of fish and veal and venison. The hotel is only a short stroll from the ferry where you can travel all over lake garda. Gardone is a very quiet place with a short prom but it is very attractive. It has a few restaurants but it's not the place where you would take children as there's very little to entertain them in Gardone. My only negatives about the hotel are the showers are quite old fashioned although the water is hot and plentiful. We also would have liked some drinking glasses in the room.

We arrived on Wednesday. Our room was ready and we thought we would have to wait because of stated check in time. Our 2 adjoining rooms smelt so beautiful I’ve asked for the fragrance. Immaculately clean, bed linen is exceptional, comfy pillows and extra if needed. There were a couple of things I requested such as a small table on the terrace between loungers, glasses instead of plastic and towels to use on the loungers. These were swiftly brought and hotel manger agreed going forward would be beneficial for guests. Outside pool a delight after exploring the town. Plenty loungers to choose from all with umbrellas. Drinks available from adjacent restaurant or after 4 from bar service. Waiter comes round to offer. Restaurant menu changes daily. It is most definitely for the more adventurous dining experience. Half board will give you an allowance so you can decide how much or how little you require. Breakfast is buffet style with everything you need. Not crazy over the top options like some massive hotels. And please remember is more of a boutique hotel. The town has at least 6 restaurants serving meals and drinks throughout the day. Friday evening had a live show in the main square. Lots of gelato options. Our particular favourite is Gelato Pimavero. Beautiful boutique shops with the most amazing styles. Bring your credit card! There is a small supermarket about a ten minute walk away for essentials. I was lucky enough to meet Roberta, a masseuse the hotel have. Being lucky enough to have had massages all over Europe this however is absolutely the best experience I’ve had. The Lotus package offers relaxing back/ legs, head/face and shoulders and feet. Outstanding!! The staff at reception are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. As most receptionists are the face of the hotel I did feel for them sometimes being overrun with requests from guests and trying very hard to offer each one the best service they could. Evening drinks on the roof terrace bar is much better once the sun is going down. Cocktails are made by the very experienced and friendly Marismo. Really not sure how to spell his name. Any cocktail you can dream of wither in existence or something special to be created just for you. And so off to enjoy the rest of my holiday. Part 2 to follow.
