The room was ok, bit outdated. Carpet and drapes could do with some upgrades. Old, old plastic flowers in the hallways are absolutely begging to be thrown out-please do so-pitiful! Biggest issue was breakfast. We had friends from the US with us-first time to Newfoundland. We went to the dining room; it was full, we were in a line-up out the hall. A waitress told us we could go to another dining room, Salon A. We went there and the buffet containers were empty, except for a couple pieces of dried-up toast, 3 or 4 sausages, long gone cold, scrambled egg container was empty. The waitress couldn't tell us if there would be more food coming or not. No food arrived. We could not believe it! Why direct us there if there was no breakfast to be had!! The waitress in that second room tried to explain that they were full and there was "a baseball tournament going on". What that had to do with the hotel not being prepared for a full house was not understandable. The hotel management knew how many guests were booked and obviously were very ill prepared to service those guests. It was pitiful, and to say the least, very embarrassing for us who were with out of province friends. A very poor impression! This is not our first experience with this hotel's poor service. We have gone for dinner there in the past and had the worst meal we have ever had-service wise and food-wise. I won't go into that in this post; just suffice to say, this is not our first poor experience with Sinbads. We will not return.
