The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. They were very accommodating of our dietary requirements and the food was excellent. There was some work going on and we were given a free upgrade to an amazing suite to compensate. The hotel was quiet, peaceful and a very relaxing experience.

Sadly despite being in a fantastic location on the beach, the hotel itself is a big let down. When the hotel was first opened it would have been a very good 4 Star but the condition it is now I would only give it 2 Stars. The rooms are spacious and most have great views out to the ocean but they are all in need of refurbishment. However, the hotels main issue is cleanliness! The hotel is dirty throughout in all areas from the balcony patio glass windows, pool side/lobby furniture, children's pool with oily surface and the mens pool toilet being awful. I'm not sure the owners understand what cleanliness standards they should be providing as when we spoke to the management they didn't seem to understand the points we were making. On the positive side the food was very good and the staff very friendly. Its a shame as the hotel has all the attributes to be a very good 4 Star. We were due to stay 5 nights but our tour company arranged for us to be moved.

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional! Not only were the beds super comfortable and the rooms beautifully designed and spotless, but the food was also absolutely delicious. Every meal was a treat, with fresh ingredients and amazing flavors. The breakfast was incredibly extensive, offering everything you could possibly want – from fresh fruits and pastries to made-to-order dishes. It was the perfect way to start the day! What really stood out was the outstanding service. Since we stayed a few extra nights, the staff paid extra attention to our preferences. They remembered where we liked to have our beach bed and even took note that I didn’t want papaya with my breakfast. These personal touches made us feel truly valued and taken care of. Everything about this hotel was perfect – from the atmosphere to the service, the food, and the small details that made our stay unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough. A definite must-visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was a super hotel in a really good location. The food was lovely. All the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful,especially Sanath who could have not done more for us. Thank you. The Hotel was brilliant when my husband had a unfortunate accident injuring his leg, finding us a wheel chair and a member of staff going home to fetch some walking sticks.

Here for just one night as previous hotel messed up booking . Very welcoming lovely quiet place pool beach great food and drinks delightfully served with a smile .wish it had been longer. Given a really lovely suite of rooms at top of hotel sunset amazing

What a fabulous 3 nights at the Rockwall Boutique, stunning location, right on the beach. Staff super friendly, polite and accommodating. The General Manager gave us late check out free of charge. Prasad who waited on us, always checking we were happy with food choices and offering us alternatives, great service. Chamath who made the best Pima Colada ever tasted. A perfect end to busy tour of island. Highly recommend.

A lovely quiet location on a paradise beach. We enjoyed our stay which lasted 3 nights and rounded off a busy two week tour of Sri Lanka beautifully! The best bits : The room was great! Fabulous sea view, very comfortable, big well equipped bathroom. Lovely garden with ample sun beds, plenty of shade if you want it. Clean pool which we dined beside each evening listening to the waves on the beach. Staff were just right - friendly, attentive, courteous and always smiling - just the right balance. The poor bits: Food was very limited for choice but nevertheless, very nice. Beach was only for strong brave swimmers, very steep with very big waves! Not the fault of the hotel of course but maybe worth a mention as we love a sea swim but didn't dare - got knocked over trying to get in! The gym was dire I'm afraid! Equipment was there but NO AIR CON! No towels, no water, no door , just part of the end of the corridor leading to staff kitchen. Very poor

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of a very busy Sri Lanka tour (it was much needed!). The hotel is in a great, quiet location overlooking a beautiful (and very quiet) beach. The room was a bit tired and unfortunately our room did not have a good view of the ocean. Small attention to details would make the difference such as the provision of robes and better quality bathroom products. The staff were lovely and very helpful and despite being a small hotel the food was very good. There is a set menu to select from at dinner which was much welcome after buffet dinners elsewhere with a mix of western and Sri Lankan dishes on offer (go for Sri Lankan, you won’t be disappointed). Overall we enjoyed our stay here and didn’t leave the hotel (apart from forays onto the beach); it was just the tonic needed.

This was our second holiday at The Rockwell. It is a fantastic hotel, right on a glorious beach with very large rooms and balconies overlooking the beach. The staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly, you immediately feel at home. We hope to return again next year.
