Outstanding hotel - wonderful rooms, great food, amazing spa area. Our 6th time of visiting - it never disappoints. ALL the staff are amazing tbh, particularly ANGEL, a waiter - super helpful, cheerful, always happy to chat. Highly recommend! ⭐️

Hotel is tired and needs more attention to detail, bath room door looks like it’s just been sanded and not varnished, bathroom mirror light doesn’t work and bathroom tap wouldn’t stay up to keep water running. For a TUI Blue the room we had was very basic and not enough storage space or hangers. We had to call reception second day in for our room to be cleaned. Paula in the Spa was superb and very professional in her treatments, the rest of the staff were friendly and chatty. Poolside was very noisy from lads staff behind the bar chatting loudly with each other.

Great stay at the Madeira Gardens. We had a sea view room which I would recommend as they get the sun and are shaded from any wind ( a breezy fortnight). Room a bit tired but comfortable, spacious, well equipped and clean. The hotel and TUI reps really made the holiday. Without exception they were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Particular thanks to Tatiana in the restaurant who looked after my wife's gluten free requirements, even making sure cakes were available for her during her day off! Dominic's exercise classes were much appreciated. I have back trouble and although I've had 9 months of physio, his classes actually made a big difference and I'll be keeping these up! Walk up from coach drop off is a few minutes maximum (certainly not 10!). Walk into Funchal 30 mins max with the option of 2 buses and Bolt taxi . Food was very good, wide choice (Inc GF) and good quality. Recommend registering your card for bar/restaurant bills as pay as you go can be awkward. Enjoyed 4 trips - recommend the 4x4 trips . Highly recommended and we plan on returning next year for the flower festival.

Would absolutely recommend this hotel. Staff were all great , helpful, friendly, happy and all spoke fairly good English! Sonia the entertainment rep was fabulous! She had a great sense of humour and interacted with the guests all the time! Food was lovely, plenty of choice. We had a sea view room on the first floor. It was lovely, plenty of room and very large comfortable bed! Yes wardrobes were a little dated, but does that really matter? Entertainment in the evening was good, usually singers. The rooftop setting was great. The silent disco was fantastic!!! Got alot of us up dancing and we all said it was one of the best nights!! Gene, the tui rep was fab and very knowledgeable and you felt like you could ask him anything you were unsure of. Yes it's up a steep hill, but most places are in Madeira! The views make it worth the effort! Plenty of sunbeds, never had an issue finding a couple. Pool was cool but fine once in!! We will most definitely be returning to Madeira and this hotel. I just hope it's as good next time we visit!!

We arrived at the hotel after a very stressful landing in Madeira due to strong winds… We found our coach outside the airport, they take your suitcases which actually go into a van… transfer time is roughly 30 mins… bare in mind the coach can not take guest direct up to the hotel, due to its location, you get dropped off down a steep hill and road. So it is a walk up for about 10 mins roughly depending how mobile you are… your suitcases will be waiting for you at the entrance. You are then asked to put your case to one side and take a seat in the bar area and receive a glass of bubbly… your passports are taken by the TUI rep which are then taken to reception area.. a bit of a chit chat and then passports returned. Then you have to queue at reception to get you room keys and book restaurant etc. personally we found this sitting down and passports taken annoying. As then everyone was just queuing. But if that’s how TUI do things… We was taken to our room which was back outside the hotel Into a building Garden Deluxe block.. you access this by the pool and spa… the room was beautiful and very spacious. We was told by reception it was the best room in the hotel… very big balcony over looking the sea and pool…. Toiletries are provided. Restaurant — very clean and the staff greet you on evening meal, the food was fabulous, lots of variety even for me a fussy eater..breakfast was also fabulous choice. Pool - we sat by the pool a few times but the pool is not heated so not many tried the pool. It was vey clean tho and pool towels are in your room. We used the indoor pool which is actually part of the spa. But it was quite dark down there so didn’t stay long. My hubby tried to book a treatment but could not get one for 4 days, we was only there for 3 nights.. the grounds round the pool where lovely, lots of bistro style tables to sit and have a drink. Staff - are outstanding and always cheerful, The age range at this hotel we would say are mainly 70 plus. We are in our 50s but felt part of the younger guests. There were some our age with a few younger ones but I would say mainly an older crowd. Which was fine for us. We also found some guests had stayed here before and knew staff. Also bear in mind you have to walk back along a road and back down the steep hill to get back on your coach on your departure. Suitcases again via a van outside entrance to hotel. Also the hotel is in a residential area so be mindful… this did not spoil our short break… Overall - we loved this hotel, we have stayed in many Middle Eastern hotels 5star and have not had such a good variety of English food as here. Don’t be put off by the walk up the hill to the hotel, I’m not a fit person but was ok…it’s short walk up hill.., as hotel situated on a hill… the view from sea view rooms is fab. The dress of guests here was mainly casual on our stay. We loved our stay so much we didn’t want to leave. We could only stay for a few days unfortunately. Small niggles - the steep hill t
