Auberge Clermont

We had a wonderful stay here. It is a great location 2 mins drive to franschoek and very walkable during the day. The villa is huge! In a lovely setting, so peaceful and with spectacular pool. The beds are super comfy the air conditioning quiet and effective and the showers hot and powerful. It is well equipped and the reception team couldn’t do enough for us. A very special stay thank you

What a gorgeous place and beautifully decorated in a subtle French country style that is so tasteful. We stayed in the villa, which has its own pool and spacious living area. Two downstairs bedrooms, one en-suite, with a sitting room, dining room and kitchen. An additional, very large bedroom suite is upstairs, via a separate entrance. We sneaked a look at the other rooms in the location, they are all immaculate and several have great views. Our private veranda looked out over the vines and off in to the mountains, from which you could watch incredible sunsets and the moon rising. highly recommend the little local tuk-tuk to get you in and out of town if you don't want to walk. Such a lovely chap, he deserves a mention as he ferried us around quite a lot.

The location with a wonderful view over the mountains, the charming room, a fantastic breakfast and an awesome group of extremely helpful staff. It’s about a 15 min walk into the city center and that works fine in daylight. We’ll see you again 🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful peaceful and idyllic place. Kind friendly and attentive staff who made us feel so welcome.Stunning views over the vineyards and mountains. Great pool and lounging area. Wonderful breakfast. Spacious rooms with big comfy beds. About 2km to the center of Franschhoek. Had a wonderful relaxing and serene stay here and highly recommend it.

We've stayed at hundreds of bed and breakfast inns, a good number in beautiful country settings, so I'm not sure why this place felt so very special, but it is simply one of our favorite stays among similar vineyard or country stays. There is a peace and quiet permeating the place, an aroma, the small sounds of a family run farm and vineyard-in the shadow of those mountains-- hard to describe what a pleasure for the senses it was every minute of walking the grounds or sitting in our beautiful loft room watching either the sunlight or the full moon's light stream in or the clouds fly .... so many beautiful touches-all around the grounds, in the rooms--fresh flowers and herbs- daily breakfast notes.... and those eggs at breakfast! Why did they taste so good?! We have had farm fresh organic eggs, but I loved these eggs so much. And the lovely breakfast ladies- such charm, smiles, hospitality. Every corner of the place was lovely and while I felt it was very much modeled on similar French country inns or Italian masserias- it felt somehow different. Maybe its the mountains, or the wind. We loved it. Be aware, you cannot walk to and from the place after dark, it is pitch black and likely not safe to do so - but thank god for the Auberge's distance from what we found to be a very commercial and tacky tourist trap of a single main-drag town. Come to the area for the Auberge-and the beauty of he vineyars. If the town and its shops are your sort of thing, you may prefer staying at one of the many places off the main street that are closer- but there is transport to get you from this inn to the town or any restaurant in 5 minutes. If vineyard visits are your goal, you don't need to be in town. If it turns out the town is definitely not your cup of tea, you will be grateful to have your own beautiful vineyard and bit of heaven to enjoy in peace.
